anyone noticed all the white people hate on the internet atm...?
 

So it's mainly on tumblr of course, but I'm seeing it slowly start to spill onto facebook.

I honestly don't understand it. I know people of colour have had it a lot worse then white people, but the hate I'm seeing is getting ridiculous. There's so much hate towards 'straight white boys' and it's like why bring colour into it... I can see the type of boy that they're trying to say is a 'straight white boy' but to say that they are all like that is actually kinda racist imo. If the term 'black' was used, some people (most of the time arent even black tbh) would cry out that it's racist...

I'm not turning this into a black people vs white people thread, lol. I'm just wondering if other people have noticed it.

yeah there are loads of black people on tumblr making white people posts atm, idk why, doesnt bother me though, most of its tongue-in-cheek I think

most of the people who are hating are actually white themselves. it's so dumb, this is the exact sort of thing which made me start that tumblr thread. it wasn't made to hate on pansexuals :umm2:

I think the jokes are funny, i laugh about jokes like that no matter what race... But some of them are just petty and hateful... Like they are actually trying to hate on white people for something. If it was any other race or colour it would be seen as totally racist, which is why it annoys me so much.

Not necessarily, I have noticed an increase in the number of 'black people be like' and 'white people be like' Vines shared around on Facebook/Twitter etc though and a load of jokes and memes flying around similar, so I guess I've noticed a lot of things that are drawing attention to skin colour but I don't really see it as a bad thing? I find a lot of them quite funny and I think most people take them in good spirits

Except it's pretty hard not to because it's everywhere...

most of them are just jokes, its only the stupid ignorant people who take it too far and make a 4 paragraph rant about how hard they have it

I don't know what to say, stop using sites that particularly annoy you maybe? or rise above it and just ignore it, its a difficult question to answer really, if you want to stay on the sites you have to devise a mechanism for dealing with it I guess.

It's just because of the sites you're using, they're a vocal minority. There's plenty of white nationalist racism on other sites. I stumbled across some really disturbing Twitter profiles from some a while back

no but seriously, that thread was created to discuss white people being demonised on tumblr/the idea of cisgender oppression committed by trans people/using the word ratchet apparently being 'cultural appropriation'/criticising people who don't bathe as being a form of discrimination etc. but it descended into a debate over girl's and boy's toys :facepalm:
