Plan B allows an already ditched act to return. It could be rejects 4Sure or The Unconventionals, or even someone axed in the boot camp rounds.

Producers are also weighing up a third option — letting guest judge, crooner Tony Bennett, 80, decide who goes. Alternatively, the last ten acts would be completely at the mercy of the public vote. An insider said: “They have no idea what is going to happen.

“But that’s the point — we don't want anyone getting too comfortable.

“We want to give viewers some extra excitement.”

Saturday's X Factor is a big band-themed show, in Bennett’s honour.

A double eviction could spell trouble for Dionne Mitchell and The MacDonald Brothers, who are bookies’ favourites for the boot. Long-haired rocker Ben Mills is still favourite to win this year's competition.

A Double Elimination would be good - Means Mac'D have a better chance of going! But i would love to see a Ex-X Factor Finalists from one of the past Series Return (BRENDA!)

I really don't like twists, because it ruined Big Brother and I'll bet it ruins the X Factor.

I don't want no one back from past years shows, they had their chance.

I doubt anything is going to happen its just a ratings boost

Proably just trying to hype the show and it will end up being something minor lol.

I did read a rumour saying two would go and then each judge would pick someone from their top 8 who didn't make it and the public would vote one through.

doubt that will happen dan unless they dont go for christmas number 1 this year as ive worked out on calander that final will be week before 23rd of december

I hope 2 dont go.

If two went and one was voted back it would be the same...

If its people being voted from the auditions I guess that could be fun.

I'd like to see Carlo or Stacey be in 16-24s
and Tiwa in 25+

I hope they dont do this!! Why muck around with the format! Its fine as it is IMO. Or do this at least after a few weeks when we hav a better choice of who to bring back, no contest really at the mo, 4sure wud def be back!

I think it would only be one's from their top 8 but failed to make it to the finals.

Exactly, i could'nt of put it better. Its just a ratings boost probley.

well because im sad lol i looked how long its on this week(results show) and its 40 mins then i looked how long it was last week and it said 35 mins so its 5 extra minutes
