I heard it's getting replaced with 'Page 3 - The return' and it's going to feature naked men every day now instead so woman and gay men (if they want to) can stare and have a good conversation about how big their balls are.

King Rupert thinks so. It was the Paper on Building Sites and Factorys Its been the biggest selling paper for many years. Some may go to King Desmonds Star but that is lacking the international links the sun has. |

Sad to see the end of this fine tradition, looks like the Daily Star is going to be the last bastion of the true British red top

Let's face it; it's just another example of how a 'proactive' minority have imposed their will on a 'passive' majority.
I need to get this off my chest and say that Page 3 was just a harmless bit of titivation and had no bearing on a newspaper's abiilty to keep abreast of the news. I never bought the 'Sun', and know that some people regard those who do as suckers, but I feel that if someone gets titillation from page 3, then they should have the freedom of choice in a democracy to be able to buy the newspaper and do so. I know that protests against page 3 might be on an upwards curve and realise that such an issue has caused a bit of a cleavage in public opinion, but I feel The Sun has committed a massive boob by capitulating to all the knockers of it, because it would have all turned out to be a 'storm in a tea cup'. Perhaps those protesting against page 3 should try understanding the male fans viewpoint and should not have tried to milk the issue as much - after all, it is harmless fun. I may get flak from some on here for this post but I am brave enough to take it. Just as long as no one titters over my post. |
