Film Quotes Quiz

It's pretty simple really.

I'll give a quote from a film. Whoever answers it gets to ask the next one.

To start here's a quote from one of my favourite films:

'Gentlemen. You can't fight in here. This is the War Room!'

What film was that from?

WILDCHILD 24-02-2003 03:16 PM

As good as an idea this is, I wouldn't have a clue, I am terrible at movie quotes.
Anybody else?

chris 24-02-2003 05:25 PM

The quote 'Gentlemen You can't fight in here. This is the War Room!' is from the 1964 classic 'Dr Strangelove' starring Peter Sellers.
Here's an easy one: 'You're going to need a bigger boat!' From which film?

Romantic Old Bird 24-02-2003 05:30 PM

Titanic?????????? Probably a mile off, but worth a try.

Good idea though Chris! Keep them coming! I am better on the old classic romances though................

Janette 24-02-2003 08:45 PM

That quote was from Jaws!

Cracking film!!!!!!!

Ok, here's one from a weepie, that should suit ROB :spin2:

"Daddy, my daddy!!!!!!!" :bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling::bawling:

Mairi 24-02-2003 09:03 PM

Sorry, ROB, beat you to it.

It's a quote from The Railway Children, Janette, and it ALWAYS makes me :bawling::bawling::bawling:

susieq 24-02-2003 09:49 PM

Miriam - have you got a quote for us?

Mairi 24-02-2003 10:19 PM

Sorry, Sue. I have indeed. Which film does this quote come from:

Whoooooo R U ?

Romantic Old Bird 25-02-2003 07:48 AM

I am uncertain about this one, and I think I ought to know it, but.....

Ghost?

Mairi 25-02-2003 12:14 PM

No, ROB, not Ghost.

The way the words are spelled is a clue along with the individuality of them. Another clue: this question was put to a young girl.

Romantic Old Bird 25-02-2003 05:14 PM

Mmm, got me stumped. I thought Whoopi Goldberg to Patrick Swayze in the seance bit!

:conf:

Let me think.............

Mairi 25-02-2003 05:27 PM

You seem to be the only one guessing, ROB so, especially for you, here's another clue:

Mairi 25-02-2003 07:46 PM

You're still making me laugh, ROB. It was nothing to do with the colour of the smiley.

LEE 25-02-2003 09:54 PM

I think that was Splodge confirming I got that one right. :conf:

I'll risk it and set the next one.

Ok, here's a bit of script from a very well known film.

For obvious reasons I have cut the character names out.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Mother: It's not that we don't believe you, honey.

Main Character: Well, it was real, I swear...

His brother: Maybe it was an iguana.

Main Character: It was no iguana.

His brother: Maybe a, a, you know how they say there are alligators in the sewers.

Mother: All we're trying to say is, 'Maybe you just probably imagined it.'

Main Character: I couldn't have imagined it.

His brother: Maybe it was a deformed kid or something?

His Brother: Maybe an elf or a leprechaun?
