Post Count Removal
 

Does anyone (besides spammers) care how many posts they have made on TiBB?

If not, I would suggest that the post count be removed altogether.

It doesn't make one member any better than another just because they have posted more.

Therefore I put it to the admin to consider removing it.

I just think it would be wierd without post count, i don't know but i think that removing it from the chat & games was a really good idea but alltogether? Personally i'd want it to stay because it's like... post count. :laugh: Jesus, the ****** strikes again. :hugesmile:

I don't think it would make an overall difference. I think removing it from C&G was good, cos it eliminated spammers in there. But I don't think it's needed in all of the forums.

I agree with you AND disagree with you. I don't mind if the post count goes, but... like Ant... it's post count. :shocked: Haha.

I think its a useful idea that the Mods got rid of it in C & G but I do still like to know how many post I have... likes Legend say it would be strange and post counts are post counts :hugesmile:

Yeah, I have the same mindset really - good thing that it was removed from C&G, because that lowers spam.

However the post count's just always looked upon as an integral part of any forum, so I can obviously see why people would be against removing it altogether.

For me personally though, I never really tend to check post count when I'm posting - I just post on threads I feel are relevant.

Taking it away from chat and games was a good idea, perhaps move any silly threads to chat and games straight away to avoid people spamming that way.

Well I don't think it's a stupid idea. It's a valid point Stropz has brought up.

But I don't agree with taking away post counts.

stropz has a good idea and maybe it would be agood idea to just try and test it out but like soph says every forum has apost count so im on both sides really

I mentioned the same thing earlier on - every forum has a post count, it's just...a part of a forum!

But at the same time I don't tend to keep an eye on my own post count too much.

The Chat and Games things was a better idea so just keep it that way

i like to see how many posts i made, to be honest it doesent make much difference to me how many people have or not i dont really look at it, i dont think theres an issue of whos got the most on this forum :conf: well i havent seen any going on anyway so i dont think they should be taken off.

Thanks for replying everyone. Obviously we don't all agree, but it's good that everyone has voiced their own opinion, and then the admin can see how the members feel about the idea in general.

I dont want the post count gone. A forum isn't a forum without the post count. :hugesmile:

Perhaps we could do a vote on it, even though it's not always 100% reliable it's an idea so we can see how people really feel.
