[The Buzzfeed website said: “Ed Miliband seems to have adopted a weird cockney accent so he can talk to Russell Brand.”]

Know what jumped out at me more than anything else in those headlines? Nothing g to do with Brand or Miliband... but the DM saying "ruling us".

Ruling us. The DM thinks of the prime minister as a "ruler". Which just confirms everything I already know about the Daily Mail.

user104658 29-04-2015 06:54 AM

To clarify; the prime minister is supposed to be a public servant. He is supposed to work for us. He is not supposed to be our emperor.

Supposed to be.

Because David Cameron sniffed that he didn't have the time to "hang out" with Russell Brand but has all the time in the world to "hang out" with people like Katie Hopkins - who I'm sure does wonders for his campaign...

GypsyGoth 29-04-2015 07:16 AM

I really thought Ed would come across as a buffoon during this election, but he hasn't. And he actually does seem like a nice guy, his passion and intelligence have helped him shrug off that wallace & grommit perception of him. However I feel David Cameron is a better leader and thus that makes a better prime minister.

Really? just how old is this picture ? and if it's a function you cant help but mix,he is hardly using it as a campaign boost otherwise this would have been front page news too.

I don't see the comparison really,it just turns a thread about Milliband off kilter, brand is encouraging people NOT to vote which is really not good for an election.:joker:

Lol at Brand highlighting the problem with multinational companies really acting outwith Governments (and tax) and Miliband saying "yes I agree and we will do something against it" and then saying "but of course we cant really as they dont operate in our country"

doh!

hog

business will always be ahead of governments

one of life's great lessons is the realisation that governments actually have very little say in the running of the world

joeysteele 29-04-2015 08:55 AM

..... and Ed Miliband will do what he has with all the other unjustified vile ridicule and nonsense the Conservative supporting press have thrown at him and his family for ages now.
He will ignore it and ride above it.

Which makes the voters warm that bit more to him as he gets on with the issues.
Honestly, I think, even had I been a Conservative supporter in this election, I would have been turned off voting for them due to this press bias.

Love or hate him, Russell Brand has likely millions of younger followers who do watch his every move and take notice of him, quite frankly the fact he even spoke to Ed Miliband and that David Cameron indicated he would have nothing to do with him, may speak volumes to all those followers of his.

It will probably however change nothing at all but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Kizzy 29-04-2015 08:56 AM

It's a shrewd move Brand has 50 thousand twitter followers, his youtube channel videos are viewed by over a million, if Russel can see Ed as a progressive and productive PM and endorse him then that will translate into voters.
Dave has his tory HQ engineered letters and his hustings with invited wristband identifiable stooges so he's not really in any position to criticise, all his interviews are practically scripted.
