I'm furious with Channel 5

I have long joked about evicting housemates on launch night but I didn't think it would actually happen - particularly to someone like Simon.

The guy is middle aged, a bit nutty, but hey, he had so much potential. The best housemate we never had.

Let's face it, we could have lost almost any of the girls and boys last night and not noticed the difference.

They're more or less clones.

Yeah, criticism levelled at Simon was that he was impersonating Louis Spence, but that was all an act.

Given time, Simon would have calmed down and I reckon he'd have been a great housemate. That's why he beat thousands in the auditions, right?

I'm so annoyed about this stupid twist. There wasn't even any opportunity for Simon to rescue himself. It was quite frankly, pathetic.

Oh well

Yeah that was messed up. Either way I would have been mad if Adjoa went too. I'm probably not gonna be that interested this year.

Crimson Dynamo 13-05-2015 06:23 AM

simon hew?

Cherie 13-05-2015 06:23 AM

Trust me he would have been nominated and evicted in week 1 anyway, I doubt he had much to offer his interview with Ryland! was pretty awful

uniquedude 13-05-2015 06:24 AM

When Emma said the twist had never been done before but they'd always wanted to do it I thought there was a 95% chance it was going to be an instant eviction.

As much as I didn't like Simon I can't help but think it's just as bad as the twist last year with Helen and had one of my favorites gone I would have been pissed to say the least.

Justice for Showbiz Si </3

Mystic Mock 13-05-2015 06:49 AM

Poor Simon.

Daniel-X 13-05-2015 06:49 AM

I thought when Emma said the twist like others said hadn't been done before someone would be chucked out. I was sad for Simon but I'd have been sad for anyone i was hoping Jack would have that timebomb but no such luck :bawling:

GypsyGoth 13-05-2015 06:58 AM

I think once his showbiz mask slipped and he started to reveal his inner hurt, it would have been painful to watch, good riddance.

RichardG 13-05-2015 07:06 AM

I was disappointed at first but his 'showbizz!!' was already annoying me on BOTS by the end of the night and he'd only been on screen for a couple of hours, so I'm glad he's gone tbh.

Razor 13-05-2015 10:02 AM

I was Pmsl when he got the boot. 5 mins of fame.

Glenn. 13-05-2015 10:06 AM

What's a Simon?

Vanessa 13-05-2015 10:08 AM

I'm glad he's gone. He was soooooooooooo annoying! :nono:

andybigbro 13-05-2015 10:11 AM

I suppose it is a game show and Big Brother says they can change the rules at any time.

It must suck though, going through the whole selection process kinky to be kicked off as u enter.

jaxie 13-05-2015 10:15 AM

By the end of last night I was so sick of the showbiz thing that I was quite happy he went. He was someone who was obvioiusly desperate to get a long failed entertainment career going and would have been incredibly annoying with a bad outdated catchphrase.

LukeB 13-05-2015 10:16 AM

Even though I dislike him he would have made great tv but it was obvious he was acting it up trying to be Perez/Louis Spence(which we have already saw so boring). But it got rid of someone who didn't have potential to go far in this game, He probs would have gone in the next 3 weeks. We have plenty more great housemates as well. It's only day 1 too so it's quite impossible to judge them on how they will be But it's big brother they can do what they like and I kinda agree with Emma when she said people moan at the same old twist.

camertone 13-05-2015 10:53 AM

yes, it was a lame twist. most of housemates though seem to be fame *****s.

Tregard 13-05-2015 11:37 AM

Five minutes of fame though

Niamh. 13-05-2015 11:41 AM

That's Showbiz for ya

Jamesy 13-05-2015 12:07 PM

He would have probably been a good HM to annoy the others although I don't think it's a major loss. Give it a few weeks and everyone will have moved on and forgotten about him.

The fact all he could say was "Showbiz" and "**** off" in the end though shown him to be a very bitter old man. I'm glad we saw the back of him, someone like that doesn't deserve to be on TV if they cannot leave graciously.

Glenn. 13-05-2015 12:10 PM

I don't find annoying housemates entertaining. If his appearance on Bots last night is anything to go by I would have switched off completely.

LukeB 13-05-2015 12:16 PM

I don't honestly don't know how he would be great actually... He isn't his own person we saw housemates like him before so it would be more boring tbh

Suze 13-05-2015 12:44 PM

He was trying to be very Marco, BB5.

Kizzy 13-05-2015 12:46 PM

'I had my 5 mins of fame'.... (repeat x20)
