do you think dragons ever existed?
i'm being serious http://i.imgur.com/XuPV91Y.jpg
we already know flying dinosaurs once existed (which are kinda like dragons) the only unrealistic part is the fire breathing thing but maybe it was something to do with the stomach acid of the dragon/the fumes from it? idk |
No.
not ones that can breathe fire like in fairytales anyway. I bet there's some kind of dinosaur or animal from the past that looks like one anyway |
you are so cute Rosie....
but no I don't think so |
Yes
|
Probably not, I always thought the origin of dragon myths and legends probably came from ancient people finding the bones of dinosaurs and thinking they were monsters.
|
Yeah, I think they did exist but probably didn't breathe fire
I also believe fairies exist (but i don't believe they look like mini humans with wings, more like tiny bald alien looking things) I also believe mermaids exist, but not beautiful ones like Ariel I don't want to believe that the world is as boring as it seems :( |
'I'm being serious' then posts a gigantic silly looking smiley..
But no. |
They still do exist across the Narrow Sea mate
|
...yeah actually I do think they did or one did or maybe a family of a few generations...like vampires, werewolves and as Dollface, said mermaids..I mean with vampires we know that they're bats but who said/who thought up human ones, well dead ones but you know...I don't think it was a thought up thing, I think that one had to have existed, at least one and maybe a 'freak' genetic thing and someone somewhere wrote about it/recorded seeing it and so the 'myth' has passed down but not really a myth at all...yeah Scott...there was once a dragon....
|
I hope so....
|
They still exist. :fist:

Although it is a little odd that ancient cultures from all over the world have stories of dragons despite them having no contact for 1000's of years |

Our ancient ancestors weren't sophisticated but they weren't stupid either.
Native American Indians did not understand the technology behind the steam train when the 'white eyes' first introduced it but they knew that it was made of iron - the same as their arrow heads and knives - and that it was a powerful form of transport - like their horses - so within the parameters of their own language a train was termed an 'Iron Horse'. It is the same story when a Papua New guinea native first saw an aeroplane; he recognised the glint of metal in sunlight and that it flew through the skies like a bird - so aeroplane became 'metal bird'. This being so, you can bet your life that ancient cultures who share the same legends of 'fire-breathing flying dragons' REALLY DID WITNESS SOME THING which had the power of flight, made a terrible 'roaring' noise and emitted propulsion/exhaust flames. Wonder what that 'something' could be?:hehe: Incidentally - in my opinion - there is no logic to support ancient man finding dinosaur bones or any other giant bones and creating 'flying, fire-breathing dragons' from such bones. Giant land-locked monsters perhaps, but nor dragons. That takes actual VISUAL causation. Just out of interest; ancient tools have now been found which even pre-date humans: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-32804177 |
No, I don't think dragons existed. Our ancestors were very imaginative people.

Our ancestors saw something which flew and breathed fire - IMO anyway. |

i once had a mother-in-law that came close |
I once had a creationist tell me that all the different stories of dragons and their shared features across different cultures are proof that dinosaurs and humans once co-existed. It's a nice idea I suppose.
