Jake. 21-05-2015 12:14 PM

Poor girl :(

Kizzy 21-05-2015 12:16 PM

Why didn't they jump in the car and run him over?

No Vanessa - quite the opposite:

Shocking moment toddler is knocked over by 'hit-and-run' cyclist and dragged 12ft along the pavement outside her home
Cyclist ploughed into three-year-old as she walked out of her front gate
Youngster was caught up in the pedals and dragged along the path
Family say cyclist swore at them then cycled off, while girl lay injured
She survived with cuts to face, hands and legs. Police set to interview man

Cyclists have no right to cycle on pavements, poor little mite

Denver 21-05-2015 02:29 PM

But her mother should be holding her hand not letting her walk out by herself

the cyclist shouldn't have been cycling on the path, it could just as easily have been an adult who walked out their gate

A child should be able to safely walk out of their gate without a twat on a bike knocking them over and dragging them down the road

:clap1: If she were walking past a driveway or similar you have to be more careful but walking out of a garden gate she should not have to think that a cyclist could be on the pavement - as it is illegal to ride a bike on a pavement

smudgie 21-05-2015 03:16 PM

Poor bairn, she could have ended up with more serious injuries.
Throw the book at the reckless cyclist.

Cyclists are not suppose to be on roads neither it depends on local council as some allow bike to be used on pavements.

Also I'm not be funny but I wouldn't let my child walk out of the gate unless they had my hand.

Yes the cyclist should have been more carful but then the mother should ber keeping a close eye on her.

Kazanne 21-05-2015 03:22 PM

Should have got his balls in the spokes and spun the wheel.

Yeah they are  Unless there's a cycle lane then the road is exactly where they're supposed to be

And of course a child should be able to walk from their gate to the footpath without holding someones hand, the mother was just in front of her.

Liam- 21-05-2015 03:26 PM

'The mother should have been doing this' 'The mother should have been doing that'

Bollocks.

The knob on the bike shouldn't have run the kid down and then dragged her down the road, a child walking from a gate in front of their house to the car where their mother is, should be able to do so without having to react to a nutjob on wheels hurtling towards them.

kirklancaster 21-05-2015 03:27 PM

Cycling on a pavement shows an arrogant disregard for the law, and a lack of consideration for other people, yet it is this callous bastard's reaction immediately after the incident in angrily swearing at the mother and cycling off without concern for the child which is the most enraging.

I would have caught up with him and punched his head through the spokes of one of the wheels had it been my child.

Only a totally different subject I think all vehicles should be banned from pavements non of them are safe enough to be on them

AnnieK 21-05-2015 03:35 PM

Yeah for me, the fact that he knocked her over was bad enough but to then not apologise and be abusive at them is just as shocking.
