has simon met expectations

i remember some people were furious on launch night when he was evicted saying that he was amazing/the show would suffer greatly without him

but he has been nothing but boring since he returned imo

Lostie! 02-06-2015 09:49 PM

As much as I dislike him for his Eileen nomination, he's been gold tonight.

Daniel. 02-06-2015 10:28 PM

His fake tears are funny but he's nothing special

Jamesy 02-06-2015 10:31 PM

Agree

So far he's been known for backstabbing and fake crying... yeah... what a legend, saved BB16 for sure

JTM45 02-06-2015 10:34 PM

I thought he was going to be an infuriating knob-end and he's been exactly that so i suppose, in that context, he's totally lived up to my expectations!!!!:yuk:

aman201 02-06-2015 10:36 PM

Watching now, he's class.

Not here, my household went nuts when he appeared on launch night and wanted to switch off to avoid the annoying p***k.

Having same effect again for us

aman201 02-06-2015 10:42 PM

I like how he's rubbing Eileen off the wrong way.

She's annoying.

Well I was expecting him to be a mess so yes

rusticgal 02-06-2015 10:45 PM

Anyone who goes around shouting Showbizz every 5 minutes when they have entered a room full of people they have never met before...was always going to be a huge attention seeker full of insecurities. Simons one of those people who have to be surrounded by 'yes' people....everything has to be about him. He bigs himself up and he needs to be surrounded by people that believe him and think he is the bees knees.
However BB will make him do things that will have other housemates say negative things about him...and he just can't handle it. The fake crying was just to get sympathy and try and put him back into that position of adulation. The fact that he shed not a single tear...the fact that he completely over-acted the whole scenario did quite the opposite. Everyone laughed ( I would have had to remove myself from the room because I would have been in hysterics)...nobody believed his tears and he has just proved himself to be what he is...a fake!!

aman201 02-06-2015 10:49 PM

Lol at his fake sobbing, haha.

Embarrassing.

Nicely put! :grin2:

He was my favourite of the new housemates because after the first night I thought he had a nicer side under all the showbiz stuff and because I thought he would be fun.

Now I'm not so sure about him being nice because I did think him nominating Eileen was mean considering she was so welcoming to him and they seemed to get on well. His reasons were absolutely ridiculous too.

At the same time though I believe he is just treating this as a game and that he would have no problems nominating anybody in that house and I also believe that he genuinely thinks they shouldn't take it personally as he doesn't seem to have a huge personal problem with anybody in there anymore. (I suspect he will feel different though when he himself gets nominated)

I will say at least he owns his nominations, even before his secret mission he told each of the housemates what his opinion of them was from when he watched the highlights on the outside, he told Chrstian that he was too quiet, he told Chloe and the rest that they came across boring, he told Nick that he used to think Jade was a battleaxe and Nick looked like a lapdog but that he no longer thought Jade was like that since he got talking to her, he confronted Jack about his dressing gown etc. So at least he is somewhat upfront unlike slippery Sam who pretends like she loves everybody and has no criticism of them or any role at all in the joint nominations.

He definitely doesn't seem to be the 'nice guy' I kinda hoped he was under all the front, but I don't think he's the sneakiest in there either.
Despite him perhaps not being as nice as I'd hoped, I'm still finding him very entertaining.

The way he kept repeating "I'm not your best friend" about 4 or 5 times, his house meeting where he kept emphasizing his age and being COMPLETELY oblivious to how hypocritical he was coming across, the way he continued his completely obvious fake meltdown and sobbing so bloody loudly in Eileen's arms even when the other housemates at the table were openly laughing at him, his TERRIBLE acting skills when Nick told him he didn't believe his earlier tears were real

- all of these things had me laughing my ass of tonight.

I thought I would probably hate him, find him very annoying but that he would be entertaining and that he deserved his spot. Then after he quit the showbiz talk I thought there might be a nice enough guy under here. Now I'm not sure what to make of him!

So yes he's somewhat met my expectations in that he is entertaining, but I'm not finding him annoying like I thought I would, he just makes me laugh now for all the wrong reasons because he's such a bad fake crier and a blind hypocrite. Kinda funny to watch. :hehe:

armand.kay 03-06-2015 03:20 AM

Yes he has really improved the show for me

Good !
Alternative is they stick in their safe boring groups and offer nothing.

In some ways (especially the sleep thing), he's shook up the house more than Marc.

Anyone can go in there and be annoying.
Simon's challenged their behaviour by hitting them with honesty.
Like he said he would.

The biggest shame was he backed down to avoid conflict after getting shouted down.

..as always atm, I missed some last night because uggghhh 10pm is far too late for me.....it's funny, I don't really know what I feel about Simon, I mean obviously..he's the most evil person on the planet that goes without saying because ..Eileen, how could he......oh my goodness...I think this is the advantage of going into the house late/having observed the housemates etc and what Marc has also been saying as well but obviously in his own way...that really they're not 'friends' as such..maybe bonds are forming because it would be natural in that environment but ultimately and above everything else, it's a game...?...even if they do like each other, they will still go into the DR and nominate each other and that there are no 'real' friendships as such or very few...and Simon is not 'Mr Showbizz' and 'surface' as he seems or seemed but a game-player as most housemates are...and to continue his game and part of it to try to keep his own place in the house is then the 'remorseful' and 'very upset' part as well....

Good points.

I agree.
Eileen, Jack, Chloe take it personally because they want it to be all about loyalty.
But like Simon and Marc have said, the BB house shouldn't be about best mates or cosy groups.

Nothing hippocritical about nomming someone and still getting on with them.
Maybe the only thing he's been hippocritical about is the fake sobbing. (assuming it is)
But even that and offering to leave the house was probably just an attempt to diffuse things.

They all wanted to be mad at Marc but they couldn't.
So they took it out on him.
Sadly, he backed down to keep the peace.

Firewire 03-06-2015 06:20 AM

He's funny but not amazing

billy123 03-06-2015 06:24 AM
