Why do people say Emma doesn't care/phones it in now?

I'm currently watching Secrets and Lies for the first time, and I can't see any real difference between Emma now and Emma then.

Incidentally, this series is amazing, possibly my favourite of the three C5 BBs I've seen so far.

BB14 Emma was so raw and she was so into the show now she is in her cue card era.

look at the devastating decrease in her fashion sense:

I don't get that impression from Emma, actually. I reckon she's as into it as she ever was (but I wouldn't blame her if her interest seemed to wane during the last couple of summer series).

Weird how an advert with Emma came on TV literally as I was typing this.

tbf she was amazing in bb14 and all the CBB's.

And she wasn't that good in BB15 AND 16 - but who would love presenting those series?

She will be make to how she was in CBB15 for CBB16.

Its just the way it comes across to me, like she lacks sincerity. It may be just because the live shows are rushed and she doesn't have chance to fully express herself but it does seem forced to me when she feigns excitement

That L'oreal Advert?

i would say the problem with Emma is that previously she was able to appreciate the qualities that a housemate brought to the show whether she liked them or not. In recent series, she has not been able to hide her bias for certain housemates and contempt for those she doesn't like

Someone with that approach cannot be a good presenter. Rylan has a similar bias but is a dreadful presenter, so that combination is much worse.

That guy from Busted or McFly has a lot to answer for.

I don't get that impression from her at all - she's a huge fan of the show just like all of us. Who else would have the guts to say this on one of the live shows?

Did she just internally combust at the beginning there?

iRyan 22-07-2015 10:50 PM

I thought she was really great on the finale this year

the truth 22-07-2015 11:42 PM

shes the worst interviewer in tv history, shes only there for her phenomenal hotness, she should have been fired years ago

You can tell they just try to keep her to a script now, I love it when she shows her fan side as that's the Emma we want and love. :flutter:

camertone 23-07-2015 08:54 AM

it is time to axe emma and rylan.

Emma can stay, Rylan needs to go.

We know Emma can do the job well, it's just producer-meddling giving her less freedom and basically making her say what they want her to now. Replacing her wouldn't achieve anything as they would simply enforce the same restrictions on the replacement.

Rylan is just... bad. The only way he could do the job well is by not appearing in a single frame of footage.

Caballo 23-07-2015 10:35 AM

Beyond bored with her scripted quips.

y.winter 23-07-2015 10:37 AM

I'm currently watching her in CBB9 BOTS and she's so lively, the main show nowadays castrate her...

alex_front2 23-07-2015 10:55 AM

Before she got the gig on C5, she was a major BB enthusiast on C4's BBLB discussing BB with genuine passion. She wasn't angling for a job : George Lamb got the gig when Dermot left, however C5 obviously never forgot her passion and gave her the bbbots slot so when they captured the rights.

She was great and improved the main eviction show when Brian 'autocue' Dowding was axed. She was great when she took over for her first 2 series of BB main shows, it lead to This Morning, the Voice, Girlfriends, and that horrendous Prized Apart. She's a household name presenter now. However now she seems bored, extremely irritated by the heavy handed fans on Twitter and it's obvious ahead has outgrown BB, the problem is BB will struggle to get as big and competent a name to present the show. Who would replace her?

the truth 23-07-2015 04:23 PM

bb just needs a presenter to who listens and also one who asks far better more varied questions........her interviews are pitiful

Channel 4 made her George Lamb's co-host in BB11.

If she's sacked next series I have a sneaking suspicion it's because she said that
