Life Under the Dome will conclude at the end of the currently airing third season. CBS has announced that the show’s final episode will air Thursday, September 10 at 10:00pm ET/PT.

Based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel, Under the Dome tells the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. This season, Emmy Award winner Marg Helgenberger will guest star in an extended story arc, beginning with the premiere episode, as the town’s inhabitants figure out the Dome’s purpose and what it wants from them.

“Two years ago, ‘Under the Dome’ broke new ground in the summer and became an instant hit on CBS, as well as with viewers around the world,” says CBS Entertainment Chair Nina Tassler. “‘Dome’s’ event storytelling and multiplatform business model paved the way for more original summer programming with the successful rollouts of ‘Extant’ and ‘Zoo.’ We’re excited to present the final chapter in Chester’s Mill as the story comes full circle, with the dome coming down as dramatically as it went up.”

Under the Dome’s final episode, “The Enemy Within,” will be the series’ 39th overall. It was written by Neal Baer & Tim Schlattmann and directed by Peter Leto.

Kizzy 01-09-2015 10:32 AM

Tried to watch it at first but it was pants.

Niamh. 01-09-2015 10:33 AM

I love it  Glad they're finishing it up this Season though, it's not a story you can drag out for too long

lostalex 01-09-2015 10:37 AM

Kind of, most of the residents of Chesters Mill are infected by some alien bug making them drones for the aliens, when they look in the mirror they just look like static on a TV in a person shape. Not sure if that's what the actual Aliens look like or just what the people have turned into though

2 years overdue

Moosething 01-09-2015 11:46 AM

This series has been dragging imo

Ashley. 01-09-2015 11:49 AM

Preferred the Simpsons Movie tbh

Tom4784 01-09-2015 11:51 AM

I watched a few episodes and thought it was awful. It featured some of the worst writing I've ever suffered through on TV.

Withano 01-09-2015 12:37 PM

It was ****ing terrible, im still mad at myself for wasting my time for one and a half seasons.. Thought it was gonna be a really interesting show about how people would survive under those conditions but then they started to give the dome and half the people under it weird magical powers. Dumb.

Niamh. 01-09-2015 12:41 PM

Looks like I'm the only fan then :hee:

BBfanUSA 01-09-2015 12:45 PM

It went really downhill for season 3 despite Marg Hellenburger being a great bitchy villain

Xtopher 01-09-2015 01:48 PM

Good, the show sucks now.

I'm a huge fan Niamh, it's me and you!

I liked season 1 and 2, but 3 is just shockingly bad.

Thanks Niamh

I really want a season 4, I can't see everything being answered in like 2 more episodes!

Suze 01-09-2015 02:44 PM

It was rubbish anyway, so good riddance to it.

Glenn. 01-09-2015 02:53 PM

I think two series would have been enough to tell the story anyway.

lostalex 01-09-2015 02:55 PM

i like the idea of aliens treating humans like an experiment, because i think they would, just like i think humans would treat a new life form they discovered as an experiment. i think the idea rings true. science is cruel.

Spoiler:

Dexter kill them all in the end

Mystic Mock 07-09-2015 03:24 AM

I liked the first 4 or 5 episodes of season 1, but when it just became Big Hal (or whatever his name was) killing people every week it started to get silly and predictable.

Big Jim  He was Hal in Breaking Bad

So the series finale aired last night
Spoiler:

It ends with a cliffhanger,

Basically in the last 15 minutes, Joe sacrifices himself to bring the dome down, any survivors were kidnapped by the military. Jim kills his son in a scuffle. Barbie kills his daughter (who grows up pretty quickly into an adult and is the new leader of the Aliens) Anyone infected was shipped off to some military base while anyone not showing signs of being infected (Like Barbie, Jim, Norrie, Julia, Hunter, etc.) were let go but were not allowed to talk about what actually happened inside the dome.

There's a bit of a time skip, Jim used the leverage of not being allowed to talk about the dome to become of US Senator, Barbie and Julia are on a road trip across the country, Norrie is seen trying to break into a military base, thinking Joe is alive with the rest of the infected prisoners. Hunter and The girl that was with the group become high level government employees.

Show ends with Barbie's daughter being alive and intending to put up a new dome
