Crazy how cheap houses are in USA compared to UK

£250,000 can get you this.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/overseas-...-50677210.html

£400,00 can get you this.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/overseas-...-49448212.html

£600,000 can get you this.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/overseas-...-50444890.html

etc.

To have a house like the first one in most parts of UK, you'd probably have to have about at least 500k.

To have a house like the third in North london you'd probably have to have about £8Million.

London is more expensive than NY according to articles.

Will. 09-10-2015 06:30 PM

Housing is also more expensive in London. According to Global Property Guide, London ranks number two (Monaco is number one) in terms of the world's most expensive cities to rent and buy. It costs $34,531 per square meter to buy in London. It costs $18,499 in New York City.

Wow that's interesting, prices in London are steep feel sorry for anyone trying to get on the property ladder at the moment. We bought our first flat In Walthamstow 20 years ago for 40,000, the same flat recently sold for 300,000

yeah it's ridiculous, I was looking at old newspaper the other day in the house and the house next door (Winchmore Hill area) was bought for £140K in 1990's and now worth in the region of £600-800k.

BBfanUSA 09-10-2015 06:38 PM

340,000 is not cheap in America. You can't even get that in a year at a straight out of university job here.

Which is also why I haven't moved out of my parents place. Apartments are a bit expensive too.
