However I do agree with the Bishops that the 20,000 figure is pathetic and since it is David Camerons style, it doesn't surprise me that on an issue he knows he is wrong on that he gives at best a token response to their communication. |
Church leaders have been saying Camerons attitude to the poor and needy had been rubbish for years, this is just another in a long line to reaffirm this.

Look taking 20,000 and Bigger Fecking America is only taking 10,000 so No Joey Dave is doing good plus we are Co-Funding the camps outside of Deadly Syria (a New Russian Co-Nation with Assad) So I take my Hat off to Dave doing so much. |

You do not have all the facts But your view is your opinion. I heard many Labour people say Dave is doing the Best he Can, (Ref Daily Politics, SkyNewsHD,GMBHD, Radio5 AM) This Bishop can Build Multi Bunk Beds Errect mobile bogs and mobile sinks in his many Dead Churches if he does that I will thank him personally |

Putting figures on peoples lives and futures like he has is pathetic, he should be saying for now this is what we will do and leaving the door open to full review and increase if necessary, not if desired. That is what any leader worth anything would do and then be leading rather than sitting scratching round to see what further crumbs he can throw to appear to be doing something. No one argues he is not doing something, however all he is doing falls far short of that is needed and also the attitude he should be taking as to it too. |

No a Billion Pounds to those camps is Mega High. No Way does Dave fall short |
50,000 over 5 years seems more like it.
I mean, 10k doesnt compare to what the other countries are taking but I think it would be a great improvement. But yeah.. the churches could be doing so much more as well, like turning their halls into places where they can live. |

No Josh we do not have the Housing for more than 20,000 our own young must come first |

Changes are slow But USA and UK Funding is saving them, Meanwhile Syria is to become a Co -Russian Nation so that means they can not return sadly Life In The City |
Seeing as half the churches are empty why doesnt this bishop offer to put them up there?
|
Get the Bishops to dip their hands in their own pockets and give a hand.
The answer isn't ever open doors it is more a question of throwing money at the ever open mouths for now. Feed the hungry, keep them warm and above all...safe. |

I really hate the tone of this debate right now.
Why are we so focused on who should take these refugees rather than helping them? Instead of thinking 'oh no, this country won't take any.. this is awful they need to be helping out these poor people', we are saying 'oh look. this country won't take any therefore we shouldn't either'. Take these bishops and countries like Saudi Arabia out of the equation. Should we help those who are desperate, helpless, and will probably die without our intervention? Absolutely. I hope our country is on the right side of history here. |
People have been moaning for ages that WE haven't got enough for our own people ,so do you think letting thousands of others in will help that ? We can only do so much.
|
The suggestions that we should open up church halls to house the refugees is an interesting one. Especially in the light of the number of homeless people we already have here, and have had for a long time. It makes me wonder why people haven't demanded this for our own homeless.
