Time for a United Ireland Ref?

http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/ne...13b140d_I2.jpg

Northern Ireland's Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has called for a border poll on a united Ireland, after the UK has voted to leave the EU.

Support for the EU is considerably higher in Northern Ireland than the rest of the UK.

As the region shares a land border with the Republic of Ireland, it is unknown how the relationship between the two countries will be affected by Brexit.

I hope they do, we might as well go for broke and undo everything while we're at it. I'm already considering a move to Scotland if they opt for another Referendum.

haha I was only saying that the other day, we'd have a pretty good team if we had just one like the Rugby

Mystic Mock 24-06-2016 01:55 PM

Would the Republic want them back though? As they're financially doing quite well without Northern Ireland.

I believe we would, having the country put back together would be amazing

I think that it would be a good thing, it's just that there could be problems initially which is my concern.

The biggest concern I think would be the troubles starting back up again because you'd probably have a large amount of "British" Northern Irish wanting to stay within the UK

You've read my mind actually on the initial problem of this process.

Obviously neither are my country so I don't have a say, it's just that hopefully both countries would be fine if they did this.

It makes sense - abandon religion and look forward rather than back. It should be one country it ridiculous

Well yes Irish and an EU member.
But i mean if the reason for this would be because the majority of NI want to be in the EU then they would need to decide which they treasure more.Being British or an EU member.Quite a big choice as alot of people their like being British. When i stayed in Belfast i remember the street outside my hotel had British flags everywhere and over the street.Maybe it was just that area.
