Who shocked you the most from launch?

For me it has to be Hughie and Jayne. If you were to ask me on launch night who my series fave would be Hughie would of been one of the last people on my mind. Like I thought he would be a background character with Alex. Jayne I knew I would like but I thought she would just be the nice older chick without much to say. How wrong was I lol

reece(: 27-07-2016 05:35 AM

Hughie or Laura!

Ammi 27-07-2016 05:37 AM

..yeah Jayne and Hughie for me as well..Jayne I would say is now one of my favourite female housemates of all time, I just adore her....and Hughie as well, I somehow think that this experience has meant so much to him and being able to be himself in terms of his sexuality..?...

...also Andy..(although I did like him on the launch..)...but went through a bit of a wobbly time with him for a while.....but I was really liking him in the last few weeks and would have been happy had he won...

armand.kay 27-07-2016 05:38 AM

Laura is a weird one because I liked her on launch then she did a Tamara on us and fell into a show lance then we deleted the bloke and she became even better than I thought she would be on launch. Maybe Tamara would of scalped if we didn't evict her lol.

..oh yeah Laura definitely as well once Marco had gone...and that's the thing as well..it can often be a good thing for the house and general dynamics when a bigger character is evicted in the early days...

Yeah watching Hughie in the house has been so enjoyable for me because hee seems to of just taken the experience by its horns and rode it (welp). Like he appreciated every moment in there. You can also see a massive change in him from week one and him leaving last night, like we actually watched him change into a did rent person.

Andy I hated on launch because he reminded me too much of bb15s Chris... Didn't start liking him until him v Teesha and co round 1 then I started to actually hate his guts, then the week after annihilation I started to like him again. Wow.

yeah when the all the huge character stay for too long at one point the story line of the series just halts and you get stuck with repetitive weeks however when a big character goes then the group dynamics are kind of forced to chance and you get new stories and characters pop up.

..and that smug zebra as well teas...

Changed my opinion on lots of them from launch, but Andy the most by far. Hated him at first, not just in comparison to the rest of this years housemates, but he was an all time bad housemate for me. So yeah for me to end up really liking him is probably the biggest turnaround I've ever done on a HM.

..yeah, with really big/controversial type characters like Marco, there's the thing that it can become a one person show and the whole 'storyline' revolve pretty much around them so that you don't get to see other people at all and I think that cheats them out of their experience and it's a one time thing for all of them..mind you it might have been fun to see him stay and still getting it on with Laura when Mr Brazil came to visit her......

..I think the main thing that put me off him a bit was the re-occurring 'superior intelligence' thing ......don't complain about the lack of stimulating conversation when you've chosen to go on what is basically a 'trash' TV reality show..that's just a contradiction in itself...

Yeah same.. He did admit on bots that he was maybe more upset with feeling like people didn't like him or weren't clicking with him at the time.

Laura. My launch night fave who was then pretty much a guaranteed first week boot because of her relationship with Marco, but she managed to survive and grew so much as a character

..I think that the problem we still have without live-feed..(yes that old thing again..)..is that we're just given characters/character roles and Andy was to a large part, given the character of being the 'snooty one'..one of the most touching things for me was when Jayne said to him that he had low self esteem and he cried...just so emotional...

Completely. That was one of the main reasons I disliked him so much to begin with, and whenever it would crop after I started to like him, it would put me off a bit again, so I went up and down with him a lot. But even though he was flawed, I thought underneath it he was a really good guy, had some great moments, and he kind of won me over

lewis111 27-07-2016 09:10 AM

From launch night
Probably Hughie cause he seemed so annoying at first and Natalie cause I thought I would love her
But from the first week probably Laura and Evelyn cause I hated Laura the first week but she grew into such a lovely person and Evelyn came out of her shell

RhysJones 27-07-2016 09:32 AM

Laura I hated first week, but now she's one of my faves. I didn't think that I'd like Jayne or Hughie as much as i do

Vanessa 27-07-2016 09:33 AM

I did like Andy pretty much from the start and i liked his freindship with Jason. I liked Marco and it was a shame he left so soon. If he had calmed down he could have been a great housemate.

Drew. 27-07-2016 09:35 AM

The first time Hughie spoke i wanted to mute the TV so probably him, thought i'd end up hating him but he ending up being entertaining

Cal. 27-07-2016 09:35 AM

Charlie and Jayne. I remember saying to people on here that I wanted all the Others to become main housemates but I didn't really care about those 2 which is ironic considering they are my top 2 of the series.

And Laura I guess, when she was targeted and picked Lateysha I thought she was certainly a Day 4 boot but she managed to last until 4 days before the final!

Braden 27-07-2016 10:37 AM

I'd say Hughie and Evelyn. I had very different perceptions of them both on the first night.

I thought Hughie would be a Marc-esque troll who would be a burden on the other housemates (sorry, I don't mean to offend Irish people by immediately comparing them :p), but he made it pretty obvious from the beginning he wasn't that way inclined due to his distain of trouble-raisers/starters. Thank god.

I knew Evelyn put on a front in her VT, but I disliked her because I thought she'd be the typical sheep in a majority group of cool-kids. I still thought as such the first couple of weeks because we didn't see much of her, but the turning point was when her and Laura were caught out bitching about people on the screen in the living area. I'm glad we saw a more vulnerable side to Evelyn because it made her a lot more likable, and I like that she said she was an awkward geeky girl.

Also, I didn't think Jayne would be as explosive as she was, but I did think she was capable of being feisty and a centre-point of drama. She ended up being even more than I imagined though

EspeonBB 27-07-2016 10:50 AM

Probably Laura.

At first I thought she'd be quite forgettable and be destined to go first and when she got into the thing with Marco I thought she was done and I wasn't too sad about it (a bit like Tamara really) but she somehow managed to keep avoiding eviction and became one of my faves of the series <3

Also Jayne, I did like her on launch night but I never thought she'd be as amazing as she was on the show

Clootie Dumpling 27-07-2016 11:12 AM

Hated Evelyn at launch, hated her throughout the show and at the end ...

Epic. 27-07-2016 11:55 AM

Jackson was one of my faves launch night before my opinion massively lowered on him gradually.

I actually thought I wouldn't end up liking Jayne because of her inoffensive personality but she quickly grew on me within 2 days lol.
