Constantly hiding behind masks, shades and facepaint

Who is he hiding from or maybe he hates the fact he's gone from the skinny gauche curled haired vaguely charming quirky Bear lite guy from Shipwrecked to full on c+ck.

Yes i've been noticing he hides behind something all the time. Terrible having to hide from what a truly vile nasty person that you are.

I was saying that to my son last night.....anyone hiding behind masks and face paint like he does on every eviction night is a person frightened of showing emotions.
The twat with a constant smirk on his face is scared to show hurt or disappointment because he doesn't want his smug cocky confident personae to drop.

sampvt 13-08-2016 11:41 AM

One dimensional game player. He is trying to copy Marc and is failing badly. Zero personality and without his blow up doll he will struggle to carry on his act as Lewis is going to drop him like a brick.

I was thinking the same, what a child he really is,a spoilt child at that .his family must be so ashamed with his behaviour.

dyfed 13-08-2016 11:55 AM

What a shock they got when it was papa Jim got the most votes ....

hot2go 13-08-2016 12:05 PM

Hes just amusing himself.....,he's not hiding, how could he, it's impossible to hide ....it's no different to Ryan and his bin bag....I actually prefer housemates who don't get dressed up like they're about to do a photo shoot each eviction night.....like Saira said, all the women in the house do is spend all day either putting make up on or taking make up off....or shagging about with their hair constantly....I like the feathers round his neck and the masks cause it's not generic like the others....I wish more housemates did that stuff, they used to.

He was like this on ex on the beach last August wich was filmed months before airing so I doubt he's copying Marc.

I like his style, he's so cool. And the face paint is great. The Joker is spot on

You're right, Rusticgal. He's **** scared of showing an honest emotion - I think he regards that as some sort of weakness.

erinp5 13-08-2016 12:54 PM

He's an ugly repulsive individual and there is no hiding that .

 So true.

Masks are deeply psychological. It betrays a wish to hide and a wish to posture safely. As Rusticgirl says it masks any emotion that might be shown. It's a form of safety net. There may well be a mask behind the mask in Bear's case though as he is very complex. He really wants to be liked but self-sabotages almost religiously.

When James got dressed up as a pink lady he hid behind that mask and became outrageously extrovert.

Littlegreen 13-08-2016 01:44 PM

He was the same on Shipwrecked in 2011, you'd think he'd grown up a bit in 5 years!

Braden 13-08-2016 01:54 PM

Good observation.

He has insecurities like lots of humans do, but he seems to extrude them in the most innapropriate ways (this doesn't relate to the face paint/masks/etc). He desperately wants attention and is most comfortable with using television as a mean to get it. I think it's quite common for people who want to be on on these reality TV shows to have deep insecurities. They want to prove something to both themself and the peopl who watch so it's, like, the perfect opportunity for them.

Hmm, I've made myself feel a little sorry for him now :p

Exactly....his expression was hard to see last night when his little play toy didn't get saved and finally got the boot.
He does see it as a weakness...it makes him vulnerable.

Never mind...he didn't have a mask on when the security guard entered the diary room....the fear was there for all to see :joker:

I think bear and the security guard will be remembered for a long time as one of the funniest moments on cbb this year, and that was without a mask, showed what a wimp he really is,

Bear during Shipwrecked from 2011, before he succumbed to generic clone reality TV male looks syndrome eg sleeve tattoos, gym bunny body, ice gem haircut.
I literally didn't even realise it was the same person until day 3 of cbb, then I realised it was the same guy, different looks, different personality (he was a fairly likeable dickhead, now he's a nasty dickhead).

Example of a general consensus on Bear 2016 compared to how he was on Shipwrecked

I remember when #Bear in #CBB was on #Shipwrecked... He was soooo different.

Amazing how a little bit of 'fame' can change someone!! #Dick
Littlegreen, on Shipwrecked he actually wasn't as bad, he had a decent side as well as being mischievous. Iirc he genuinely fell in love with that blond bint. Sadly back home she reverted to hypergamic type and broke his heart and dumped him for a richer guy. This seemingly turned him into a grade A twat I suspect.
