Good Film Remakes?

Can you think of any? The Thing and Dawn of the Dead are the only two that spring to mind atm.

Jungle Book was pretty good

Friday the 13th remake/reboot was amazing.

A lot of people say the Halloween 2 remake was good but I thought both of them were awful.

The House on Soriority Row remake was good. And The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

I dont really know of any remakes outside of the horror genre.

evil dead

The Ring is an excellent remake. I think it's actually better than the original.

David Cronenberg's remake of the Fly turns a Vincent Price ham-fest into an intense and at times uncomfortable thriller with a powerhouse performance from Jeff Goldblum

Forgot that was a remake. It's one of my favourite films and Jeff was amazing in it.

The Thomas Crown Affair, with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo was a really good remake, though I don't think I have seen the original.

Carrie remake wasn't bad. Wasn't great either.

Only one I can think of was The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, only example where I've seen and loved both equally.

I did like the Dawn of the Dead remake but I haven't seen the original.

Ah yes, great movie.

My sisters and I loved the **** out of this when I was younger. It's a Japanese female remake of the magnficent seven. I've never actually seen Magnificent 7 and since they're remaking it with Denzel I should. But yeah, now that I am grown I realize this could have been the sh8ittest movie ever made but i'll always love it. It's about the bonding time while watching this :amazed:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was as good as

Yes :clap1:

I'd also say Peter Jacksons King Kong. The original's impressive for it's time and everything, and the remake isn't perfect, but it's still an excellent film and an improvement imo.

Vanessa 19-10-2016 08:06 PM

The Django remake. I thought it was fantastic!

user104658 19-10-2016 08:19 PM

I agree with "The Fly". Also, there's Scarface (I think the original was made in the 30's?)

Other than that, there is, of course, Psycho feat. Vince Vaughan. Hilarious, so much funnier than the original.

Oh and if we can include TV shows; Battlestar Galactica.

I watched that last week and it was so bland lmao. Not the worst remake but there's far better horror remakes out there, imo.
