I resent that. I may be many things, but a chav I am not. When I started smoking, in 1966, practically everyone smoked. I do wish I'd never started and that's one thing I tell young people, that it's easier never to start than it is to give up, especially after such a long time.

y.winter 16-11-2016 05:54 AM

No, such a stupid thing to do.

Obviously but most people start when they're stupid teenagers and it's really hard to pack in once you're hooked

I never smoked, but I did make a massive change in my eating habits (which contains a lot of addictions), so I think once you acknowledge your problem and the fact that it's solvable, a little bit of determination and concentration is all the magic tricks one needs. Making a decision, without analysing it too much (no "what if"s, time windows, "after the holidays", all this shaite), starting and sticking to it through thick and thin (and nobody says it's easy or quick). It works in so many other aspects of life. It's doable, not easy, but absolutely doable.

Changing eating habits is alot easier than quitting smoking, believe me  Heroin addicts have actually said that's it's harder to quit smoking than to give up heroin. Obviously it is doable but it's so hard
