Glamour modelling

What is everyones opinion of glamour modelling, as an occupation?

A lot of people say that the girls who do it are slags, sluts, prostitutes etc, which I personally think is a pathetic view.

I dont think its fair that glamour models get labelled that easily. I think even Page 3 is an occupation, and is no differne to working in an office. Both you get paid, and both are jobs.

What are your opinions?

Sophii3x 05-04-2007 02:51 PM

I personally wouldn't do it myself, but in the futute. Who knows..
It's easy money, and these girls enjoy it, what's wrong with that?

Glamour modelling gives these girls confidence, and I think that's great!

Sunny_01 05-04-2007 02:57 PM

They do it to earn a living - who am I to judge them!

They are very attractive women and men who usually have amazing bodies so why not use that to make some money, I know if I looked as hot as some of them I would consider it :cheer2:

Mrluvaluva 05-04-2007 02:58 PM

Doesn't bother me. A few glamour models have been over exposed in the press though and given them a reputation for being airheads.

GiRTh 05-04-2007 03:00 PM

I agree with Chris. It's terrible that the girls are sometimes labeled as easy but that because of the stigma involved in posing nude. Most young female celebrities do a shoot at some point in their career and Magazines like FHM are quite tastefully done anyway. Personally, I don't see a problem and I'd never discourage a young woman from doing a photo shoot.

You forget, they would not do it if there were not a market for it. If you want to criticise those who supply, how about those who indulge.

GiRTh 05-04-2007 03:42 PM

yep. I can't see any posts criticising glamour modelling. Perhaps you can point them out to us Sticks.

The criticism is referenced in the OP

OK. Just you said "If you want to criticise" rather than they. See what you mean now.

GiRTh 05-04-2007 03:55 PM

Thanks for pointing that out. Even with that your post still doesn't really make sense.

It's like saying if you want to criticise gambling how about criticising gamblers.

I do, but that is a bit off of topic

My point was that if people did not want to view this material, then by the laws of supply and demand, they would not be pursuing such a career.

I think that glamour models provide healthy pastimes for young men who can't get laid.

Mrluvaluva 05-04-2007 08:04 PM

Are you talking bout wank mags Stropz?

lily. 05-04-2007 09:15 PM

No, not just w**k mags Barry. Some of the regular mags, like FHM and Zoo can provide just as good w**king fodder in my opinion.

Mrluvaluva 05-04-2007 09:17 PM

so wank mags then?

Bells 06-04-2007 08:05 AM

I think glamour modelling is OK to be honest, all the shoots are done in an acceptable way, the girls are made to feel comfortable and at the end of the day (in most cases) it's done by professionals. And a lot of girls these days want to do this - it gets you admiration and fame in many cases as well. I don't think glamour models are sluts - that's a bit unfair to say. You can have sluts who aren't glamour models and vice versa! That's a really silly view. I don't really think it's the same as working in an office exactly, but it is still a job after all!

Like some other people in the thread mentioned, if I was hot and comfortable in my own skin, why not? That's what they're doing anyway, and I think it's great that these attractive people feel confident enough to do it.

Kristen 06-04-2007 08:08 AM

Good on them. It's only tits for goodness sake. There aint nowt wrong with it as far as I'm concerned. I don't like the idea of women showing their fannys (unless it's for Playboy) but glamours okay.

Sticks 06-04-2007 08:34 AM

Any chance of raising the tone a bit here

lily. 06-04-2007 08:51 AM

It's unlikely Sticks.

Lmao, what a great way to put it.
:joker:

GiRTh 06-04-2007 12:34 PM

I don't mind if they get their minges out too. Everyone can become a gynaecologist

Emilee 07-04-2007 07:21 PM

LMAO....

I dont have a problem with it. Its a good way to earn money.

lily. 07-04-2007 11:01 PM

In all seriousness, I don't think there's anything wrong with any of these jobs. The people who do them are adults and are perfectly capable of making their own decisions. If that's the path they choose, then it's up to them.

If it offends people to look at it then don't look at it! Nobody is forcing people to look at pictures or videos of naked women. I find the holier-than-thou attitude of those who complain about these things to be a bit hypocritical to be honest. I doubt anyone can say they have led a squeaky clean life.

Nobody has the right to pass judgement on others, especially over something as trivial as a career choice.

Princess 08-04-2007 12:14 AM

I see no probelm with it. Its good money for them anf theres nothing sleazy about it,they're just providing a service that people want!
