Should gender re-assignment be on the NHS?

I saw the thread about Boob Jobs on the NHS, but what about people wanting gender re-assignment on the NHS?

Maybe they can get the basics like the boob implants/boob removal, penisintovagina / vaginaintopenis, and hormone therapy. But maybe added extras such as weaves, facial bone structure, the shaving of the Adams apple, lip fillers should be paid for by the person themselves.

I thought it already was?

If circumcision and vasectomies are on the NHS then so should gender re-assignment

Alf 20-03-2017 11:23 AM

No, definitely not.

I would imagine in a country like Britain where circumcision isn't done for aesthetic proposes (like it would be in the States) then circumcision is probably only done for medical reasons

Circumcision is only done on the National Health for medical reasons. Secondly, birth control is free... and as vasectomy is only one of a couple of methods available to men, I think we should keep it.

I don't see how these two things are the same as gender reassignment.

I would guess they have o go through years of mental testing and stuff to make sure you want it

Absolutely, in actual fact, vasectomies probably end up saving the Tax payers money in the long run

Apparently you have to live in the role for a year before they even consider surgery.

And so you should same as weight loss surgery you have to spend 6 months losing weight on your own before they put you forward

I don't see why not, Gender Reassignment is a treatment for a psychological condition, it's not really comparable to a boob job tbh.
