And now Grant has claimed that he will, in fact, be entering the Big Brother house this summer after wowing the show's producers.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Star Online, the Northern lad said: "The head producer asked me to come down to the Endemol studios. They were really keen for me to go down so they paid for all my travel expenses.

"Some time later, I got the phone call to say that I'd be going into the Big Brother house."

So just what happened during the all-important final interview stage that determined Grant's future on the show?

Opening up about his experience, the new housemate told us: "I had an interview with the producers... They asked if I was single and what I would get up to if I got into the house. They were more interested in me being single and causing a stir in the house."

He continued: "They had a list of reasons as to why they had wanted to meet with me. One of them was my involvement in Super Shore [Geordie Shore's wild European cousin] and another was a story about me getting a nose job on the NHS."

As Emma Willis revealed earlier this year, the summer series of Big Brother will be all about pairs.

While Grant had previously auditioned to go on the show with his best pal Kirsty, it seems that he will no longer be entering the house with a familiar face.

Dishing the dirt on his new partner-in-crime, the reality TV star revealed: "They paired me with another person. Everyone who is in the house this summer has been on a past reality show. I was paired with Sam Chally. He's been in Coach Trip, Ibiza Weekender and Meet The Parents.

"I hadn't met him before that day. They paired us because we're both of similar height and have a similar look. The producers thought I'd be best suited with him. I think we're entering the house together, because the whole series is about pairs."

Despite having never met before, Grant claims that he and Sam hit it off when they were introduced.

"It was a bit funny at first, but we both bounced off each other. We're quite similar so I think that's why they paired us," he explained.

When contacted by Daily Star Online, Sam denied having ever met Grant, so we may just have to wait until the show hits our screens to find out the truth.

As fans of Big Brother will know all too well, all potential housemates are vetted by psychiatrists in order to make sure they are mentally stable ahead of joining the show.

Speaking about the strict interview process, Grant revealed: "I had to sit down with two psychiatrists. They wanted to know my whole life from when I was a kid.

"They asked if I had any family issues and if I had any enemies. They wanted to see if I was well enough to go into the house."

While Grant is confident he can deal with the pressure of entering the house, he did admit to feeling a little apprehensive about being away from his home comforts.

"I've done shows before, so I'm quite used to the cameras. But I don't know how I'm going to cope without my phone," he confessed.

However, despite his nerves, the outspoken Northern lad has promised to be a housemate to watch.

He told us: "My catchphrase is 'sabotage'. One of the lines that I said when taping my launch night VT was, 'You've seen Geordie Shore, but you've seen nothing yet. I'm the king of sabotage and I'm here to ******* up the house.'"

Let's hope Grant stays true to his word.

So they've chosen several pairs who have probably been on Coach Trip :facepalm:

Edit: actually, if the cast resembles older coach trip participants I'll be happy. New Coach Trip can choke.

If this is true they will most likely drop him/both of them now. They have done that in the past. They even did it to Rylan Clark-Neal, as he was due to go on the normal Big brother (before his x-factor stuff) but it got out so they dropped him and put in cbb a few years later.
