Artists For Grenfell - Bridge Over Troubled Water Official UK #1

Denver 15-06-2017 10:43 PM

Adele will almost certainly be on it

Jake. 15-06-2017 10:49 PM

I mean he could just donate some money instead

I'm not trying to spin a positive into a negative, but the last thing these people need is a song

hijaxers 15-06-2017 10:51 PM

Couldn't he have just donated instead of inflicting himself ? wanting accolades so no change there.

Brother Leon 15-06-2017 10:51 PM

Hopefully it has the actual local UK artists that were there helping out like Wstrn,Angel,AJ Tracey, Krept and Konan. Will probably just be the usual pop stars though, but at least it will make money so whatever.

It could raise hundreds of thousands even millions for the people.

everyone will be doing it free of charge i dont see the harm?

Marsh. 15-06-2017 10:52 PM

The survivors of this tragedy will be grateful for your kind donations Simon.

But the last thing they need whilst recovering is a sh*tty song from one of your clones. Thanks.

He could literally give that money over right this second though

The focus should be on loved ones grieving, searching for those missing & bringing people to justice, it shouldn't be glossed over by Simon and the musicians he likes singing a song

I just don't really think it's appropriate this soon

Shaun 15-06-2017 10:58 PM

Of course he is.

There are hundreds of platforms already available for people to donate, and millions have already been raised. This is a vanity project plain and simple.

Cal. 15-06-2017 11:03 PM

Yeah just donate the money instead.

One Love Manchester was fitting considering it was at a concert where people were uniting for their love of an artist's music. People who've lost their homes need help right away - they don't want to wait for a song to be recorded and released and the emphasis to be taken off their plight and put on artists that took an afternoon off earning thousands to record a few lyrics in a studio.

or he can do both like Ariana did? buying the single is still donating really.

King Gizzard 15-06-2017 11:03 PM

I mean I'm sure he's in it for good intentions because he's a human like the rest of us but I don't wanna hear one more track with Gary Barlow in it in my lifetime.

Agreed with Leon about using artists local to the area

Denver 15-06-2017 11:05 PM

Simon does a lot for charity so dont get the hate

Agree with all of this.

Not sure why the cynicism really, these records raise much more than one person is going to realistically donate themselves

People try to do good for charity and still get knocked.

Simon has raised millions for charity through singles at least he cares

Always on telly and always to promote his own shows. You can do good for charity without pretending you ARE the charity.

People just hate Simon tbh

I saw no people complaining about the Manchester concert which wasn't that much different tbh. Ariana I think did it out of the goodness of her heart and it made sense as it happened at her concert. The rest of the performers if we are going down the 'Cowell is just doing it to raise his profile route'..same can be said for them surely

Where have I knocked him for donating to charity? I haven't.

"At least he cares" - yeah, most people don't need to care publicly or make a (literal) song and dance about it.

A free concert organised by the person (whose fans were) directly affected by the attack, with tickets primarily for those there that night, as a show of defiance in response to a terrorist attack? Yeah totally the same Vicky.
