It would make it seem more important and cool. And I bet channel 4 are gonna splash out a lot this year to claim back audiences and make a great show so I can see them doing it.

DropsOfRainbow 19-04-2007 04:27 PM

OoO that would make it more intresting!!...

Moses455 19-04-2007 04:38 PM

What nonsense. How can so much money make the show more interesting? It is also such a worry that so much money is being put into the show...imagine all the homeless this extra money would feed, and people will still watch BB as vigorously as before, if the prize money stays the same. It is not 'cool' it is capitalism at its worst.

Ruth*Star 19-04-2007 04:45 PM

That is BullCrap Sorry, i doubt that, i think 100K is is enough, its not the money that makes the show its the Hms.

Do we throw every bit of money in existence into the homeless fund? In fact , why are you not out their taking care of them now? Would the 100,000 that has been the standard bearer not also feed many many homeless people?!

Is it not smart by channel 4 to try and gain new fans?

One million , six figures. Imagine the advertising campaigns they can do. Are you that silly?

Who gives a **** , it is reality tv. Its supposed to be entertainment. You sound like you probably should not be watching Big Brother.

Wow. What a rant.

I agree totally. I thought there might have been a prize money raise this year, but not this extreme.

Mrluvaluva 19-04-2007 04:50 PM

This is sooooo not true.

xPrInCeSs-MaYx 19-04-2007 04:50 PM

i would of thought £500m would of been enough - especially with them having to use all that money to bay off the racism thing...:puzzled:

MarkWaldorf 19-04-2007 04:53 PM

They would never spend that much, never ever.

Who gives a ****? 'Reality TV' and 'entertainment'? That is more important to you than helping people who may need money? And to claim I should not 'be watching BB' is a vacuous, ridiculous comment that has no grounding in a ny relevant facts.
And your ignorant comments as to me being 'silly' are just unsubstantiated. There are enough people already watching the show. It will make no difference if there are 'a few more fans' as you put it. But helping a few people - not just homeless, but charities, education, etc....you are telling me you don't give a ****, then call me silly?
Unfortunately, you are clearly one of those amoral people in society, who clearly does not give a monkeys about the welfare of others and are more interested in 'entertainment'.

I watch BB because I enjoy the psychological element of it. I can do this, and still feel that there is too much money being put into the show.

I feel sorry for the world, since it is people like you who have such an indiference, who stop making changes to the world.

andybigbro 19-04-2007 04:55 PM

It would be nice for someone to win that amount of money but its not likely for BB

James 19-04-2007 04:57 PM

Some sites have been making up fake rumours and logos so that they can post their links around other forums.

Whoa. So what if the producers/Virgin Media plow another £900,000 into the prize fund? If they don't put it in that, they would have spent it on something else which didn't involve donating money to the homeless. And frankly more than that is given away on the Lottery each week. Get a grip.

Look at your tv guide , look at the room around you , look out the ****ing window. Money is pumped everywhere , must all this money be taken and put into the hands of charitys? Of course not.

Yes. To aim for higher ratings would be just mental altogether.

Good for you , but should you not be helping the local charity or at least be telling others to to make you feel more secure about your character?

You really don't get it do you? Yes, there is money being pumped out everywhere, but the AMOUNT is what is in question. Can you not grasp simple facts?

Why do I need to tell people to 'feel more secure about my character'? Where have I given any evidence as to deeper elements of my psychee? Often people can only resort to subjective arguments, when they have run out of any rational ones.

Well that is very nice for you to feel sorry for me. Thank you. I appreciate your slight show of a moral quality. Well done, sir.

I couldn;t care less what you donate to. This is all well and good, but not to realise the evil of capitalism in society and believe that SO much money just being wasted on BB is a positive thing, which you do not give a **** about is what is worrying. Donating money to charity is a noble thing, but it will not change the world, when your other views are so blatantly based on capiatlism and you cannot see behind the mask of society.

BIG-BRO-FAN 19-04-2007 05:12 PM

Sounds cool, but I'm somehow doubtful the prize money will be that high

You really dont get this do you - whats one million for a little tv game show matter against the likes of $418,571,238,791 pumped into the war in Iraq? You still persist to remain totaly illogical and accepting of the society you are most certainly taking advantage of - and the way it works.

No, donating money to charity is a start, but if a person is of the opinion that footballers/pop stars, other people in popular culture deserve such money, then the money they give to charity, is kind of eliminated, as these people in the popular culture world are literally stealing from those who need more.

You cancel out the good deed of giving to charity by condoning the vast amount of money wasted, being given to those who do not deserve it. THAT is a specific circumstance when giving to charity IS kind of cancelled out. I did not say giving to charity in ITSELF was a bad thing. It is the naive attitudes, expressed by Stu that is a waste of time.

You see too black and white my friend. We cant all go back to the ****ing stone ages to help those on the streets. We cant live in the strange little strict world you described [and im sure you dont abide by]. Your on a computer im guessing right? BAH! Bill Gates did not need that money! How dare you give him more money?! Have you ever paid a pay per view to watch a football or boxing match with those rich rich sportsmen? You have a phone im sure. And are an avid viewer of TV , contributing ratings to the shows the likes of Big Brother , and helping some glamour models careers.

I am so impressed you know exactly what was put into the war with Iraq. Wow, I bow to your intellect.
You simply don't get it do you? I agree that much money is being used in other areas,,,such as Iraq. But, I claim to know little about politics and cannot judge on the validity of Blair/Bush's decisions. Popular culture is smething I have a lot of knowledge about, particularly music, drama and entertainment. And it is blatantly obvious that billions of pounds is wasted on talentless twerps in the pop industry. This is what I suggest should be focussed on FIRST.

How to change the world?

1) Get people to realise that capitalism is not working- the rich are ridiculusly rich and have more moeny than they can shite. The poor just get poorer.

2) Start apportioning money more evenly. Introduce a 'popular tax' that all people in this industry have to pay, should they earn over a certain amount. Thereby, billions of pounds will be coming into the economy, through the taxing of these people.

3) Lower ther taxes of other people, as so much money will be in hand from the people in point 2 above.

4) Abolish the royal family and re-build flats and places of residence on the land. Melt down the crown, all the paintings and donate to charities.

5) Get people with closed minds, such as you, to see the light and work together to change the world. My lone voice will accomplish little, but campaigning together may work wonders.

Agreed, I do see many things in black and white. well done for picking that up.
I do not claim though to be a person who is above moral reproach. I do not like football/boxing (i find the latter immoral), and certainly would not pay to watch it. I find glamour modelling slightly shallow and immoral and would certainly not pay a penny to watch any of this stuff. I am using a computer, yes, and rarely watch TV, although I am partial to star trek. I am not saying abolish all money, such a son a kibbutz, I am saying HAND IT out more evenly.
