Channel 5 can't afford the 100k prize fund

That's why they're giving 15k to a second chance housemate in an IOU and tempting housemates with ridiculously expensive treats to get the prize fund down to 50k

Time 17-07-2017 03:20 PM

they blown the budget on the forest

SteveG2688 17-07-2017 03:20 PM

I guess its possible. I wouldn't have thought they would offer 100K to begin with though if they couldn't afford it.

Crimson Dynamo 17-07-2017 03:21 PM

I bet they stick it on a card

BBUK-Fan 17-07-2017 03:22 PM

I feel sorry for whoever wins because the prize money that was promised will end up being £2.50 and a packet of haribo.

supertv247 17-07-2017 03:45 PM

But in timebomb we thought they were doing this too. Joel ended up spending £2k on a pizza, but by the end exactly £150k was given out

Withano 17-07-2017 03:48 PM

Yeh, they had 400k to splash on Grant Bovey or something cba to Google if thats his name. I dont think theyre clutching.

Northern Monkey 17-07-2017 04:12 PM

I highly doubt it.£100k is a drop in the ocean to a big company like C5.

ethanjames 17-07-2017 04:16 PM

not surprised honestly. they should have known that they will have ran out of money yikes

I think the thread is tongue in cheek? At least I'm assuming that?

the winner to be given a £25 new look gift card on exit? :skull:

thisisdanny 17-07-2017 09:24 PM

Well this isn't true. In past series, just because the prize fund hasn't been the full amount doesn't mean it wasn't actually handed out - it was given out in prize fund twists. Like this series, yes it's 85k at the minute but 15k is going to somebody else, and 20k will be given out in a task, C5 aren't stealing it for themselves

This. I don't think there's ever been a time when the amount of money given out didn't total at least the original prize fund

Like for example, in BB16. Chloe won £116,100. Chloe also took £5k, Sam also took £5k, and Jack took £23,900. Add that all up and it totals the £150k prize fund

They only do this to create drama. They eventually find a way to make sure all the cash distributed equals the prize fund
