Is anyone else just not interested?

Everyone's raving about how great the launch was but I just felt it was so awkward with Shaun's secret task and half of the men just clump together for me (Chad/Jordan/Sam) :( I'm really excited for Trisha, Sandi, Marissa and a few others but I just can't bring myself to care. I'm just thinking, "we should be watching Issy on our screens right now" </3

Idk I just need a longer break usually and I'm scared because usually I'm engaged when watching summer CBB but tonight I just felt like i was just waiting for it to end

StephenPullen 02-08-2017 12:33 AM

The launch did seem to go on for a while. To be honest I think the secret mission ruined the atmosphere of the first night. Instead of seeing all the new housemates we were distracted by the inane and awkward secret mission that was totally unnecessary. Didn't see much of Marissa, I guess she was keeping it quiet and taking it all in - was definitely a fan of hers from Mob Wives.

Jordan. 02-08-2017 12:33 AM

Me, I wasn't excited anyway but that launch did nowt for me

Time 02-08-2017 12:33 AM

The task just ruined it tbh. I'll watch the highlights tomorrow probably but I ended up switching off towards the end.

Alf 02-08-2017 12:34 AM

I think in the channel 5 era, the celebrity versions have been better than the civilian. So we'll just have to wait and see what the series brings.

Agree about the task though, it was just not needed.

HBIC 02-08-2017 12:37 AM

The celebrity editions always take a good few days to warm up so I wouldn't write it off just yet. I think this one has potential.

Daniel-X 02-08-2017 12:37 AM

It was a terrible launch, if Trisha and/or Brandi weren't in the line-up I wouldn't be watching

Jason. 02-08-2017 12:41 AM

I'm the opposite. I wasn't really excited at first but I thought the launch was pretty good and the line-up has potential. The secret mission was awful, but thankfully those sort of twists are usually irrelevant after the first few days and don't really have much of an effect on the series.

Wizard. 02-08-2017 12:42 AM

It was quite average but idk I just have a good feeling about this one.

I don't have the patience for it to reach potential yet :joker: it's odd because objectively this could be the best CBB, but I just don't care enough

Oh no doubt the series has potential, and on the whole I do prefer C5 CBB to BB, with a few exceptions. I just feel completely put off

Likewise, I woke up today, checked Snapchat, saw "Big Brother Starts TODAY!" and thought "oh, I'll have to watch that". I don't feel like I have any reason to watch

That's what annoyed me - we didn't see much live feed of the housemates interacting because we saw Shaun's task instead, and we couldn't even hear what was going on for half of it. How annoying

I was tempted, but I just left it on in the background. I was only waiting for Trisha

Will. 02-08-2017 12:44 AM

I really like the cast, it's actually quite Impressive for a Summer CBB?

It seems that they've put a lot off effort so far into the series with the house.

It was only the task that wasnt great I thought.

I think this series has a lot of potential.

Jodie. 02-08-2017 12:47 AM

This series will be top tier mark my words girls x

Maybe CBB18 put me off but I just don't have a good feeling. I'm PRAYING I'm wrong but I usually hate summer CBB anyway

Oh yeah, no doubt the twist will just be a bump in the road. The only men I like in the house are Shaun and Karthik though, I'm so scared we'll have a summer filled with showmances this series :(

Compared to the likes of CBB14's cast I do agree it's probably the second strongest CBB cast, behind CBB16. And yeah I LOVE how different the house is, I loved BB18's house but it's nice to see it not just have a few gold touches. There's definitely potential but I have an off feeling

Lush 02-08-2017 12:59 AM

I always prefer the civilian because I always get more invested in the housemates. Especially this year rooting for the Exiles and the whole thing ending on such a high. It's been hard to move on from it :(

Tonight has been good though bar the embarrassing twist and Trisha looks like she could be a legendary housemate :flutter:

RileyH 02-08-2017 01:01 AM

Live from the House was better, as the task had stopped and all the housemates were interacting

Is this not usual for you?

I know half the forum only ever seems to like female housemates and can't stand blokes (except maybe the odd one, like Raph as thy know him or some random guy who has been on a show with some 'queen')...thought you were one of those

reece(: 02-08-2017 01:11 AM

iIt was trash, not even a bottle of wine could save it!

Amy Jade 02-08-2017 01:11 AM

The task kinda dragged it down tbh

Greg! 02-08-2017 01:14 AM

The launch was ****e because of the task, I'm excited for the rest of the series though.

EspeonBB 02-08-2017 01:16 AM

The cast is a lot better than I was expecting but the launch wasn't good, probably due to the lame twist

I don't know most of them but the line-up's looking good for a summer CBB. I love all the women (I'm scared I won't enjoy Jemma later though - I see her being a Marnie type figure), Derek seems alright, Karthik looks good, Shaun could be the best man in there, and Danan is definitely better than the others we shan't mention :skull:

Ugh your opinions are great so I knoe you're probably right but I just can't see it this way yet </3

I feel attacked :joker: Yeah I am, but it's still disappointing when I can only think lustfully of the men in the house. I genuinely don't know why I don't like the men of the house

Based on the LftH thread, it did seem interesting, so I'll try and see if I can watch that tomorrow and base judgement off that

Oh I get way more invested into BB most times. I do agree - it's the first series I've seen for a while in which the side of the divide I was rooting for won and my favourite won (although Chloe won BB16, but there was no storyline to BB16 :( )

Trisha WILL be an amazing housemate! She and Sandi are why I'm bothering

Fairly sure you are joking here (esp with the :joker: ) but just incase...don't  Just an observation about you and about 10-12 other members on here. I find it quite funny...some people I can accurately guess which housemate they are going to stan from the VTs before I even come on here after launches :D

Oh yeah it's a joke don't worry!! I know who you're on about and I know full well I'm guilty of it

I'm one of those people :skull: with Hannah and Debs/Sukhvinder and Imran's pictures released early I jjust knew I'd stan them. Similar thing happened with Chloe, Adjoa and Amy and Sally in BB16. I just get a gut feeling :joker:
