Would you ever be teetotal?

One to have a think about on St Patrick's day

The chick has tried it, oh she has tried it. But something about those Dark Fruits and Stella that lure her back in for another romp!

Jordan. 17-03-2018 11:45 AM

I think I could, it's something I've considered for a while. I usually go months without drinking anyway and then when I do it's from feeling pressured in social situations rather than actually wanting it.

thesheriff443 17-03-2018 11:54 AM

I've always been teetotal, lots of people over the years have said they would love to be able to go out and have a good time without the need to drink.

y.winter 17-03-2018 11:55 AM

Yes, I am.

Alcohol is extremely overrated and drunk people are the worst :umm2:

Underscore 17-03-2018 11:56 AM

No, never.

Withano 17-03-2018 11:58 AM

I could if I had to be. But I dont want to be, I enjoy a few drinks wih the #lads

I wish it wasn’t so calorific :(

The bevvies with the girls have me looking like Miss Plump?

smudgie 17-03-2018 12:09 PM

Yes.
My life depends on it.

Lostie! 17-03-2018 12:09 PM

Quite easily tbh. I only drink once in a while as it is, the vast majority of my meet ups with friends don't include alcohol so whenever I do drink I have a great time because it's more of an event (and the rarity of it means I'm a huge lightweight).

I'm not sure I would because as I said I enjoy it when I do but it wouldn't really make a difference to my social life if I did.

I pretty much am, I had 3 WKD’s for my 21st last June and a mouthful of some elderflower tasting drink the other night in the last year or so.

caprimint 17-03-2018 12:37 PM

I already am

Wizard. 17-03-2018 12:49 PM

shocked at this, you seem as if you’re a cocktail person

JerseyWins 17-03-2018 12:53 PM

I definitely could, I really only drink once every couple months usually. Maybe a different story like 5 years ago (or earlier) --- but still I've never been all that crazy about drinking. The only reason I wouldn't though is because then there's that one night every once in a while that I'm ready to get ****ed up. :joker:

RileyH 17-03-2018 12:59 PM

Probably not but I don't drink that much anyway, only at parties/special occasions

user104658 17-03-2018 01:16 PM

I practically already am. I meet up with old friends from school every 6 months or so and we throw back a few, and I'll have a drink at events like weddings / "adults only" parties but that's it. I don't drink casually e.g. in the house (or in fact ever at all around the kids) so basically I only have any alcohol maybe 3 or 4 times a year.

I wouldn't say I judge people for enjoying alcohol or for drinking - but I do think the fact that it's socially accepted as "normal" that a huge number of people have a functional / low level alcohol dependence is pretty worrying .

Nah the pub is too big a part of my life - it's where I catch up with friends, where I go to unwind, I play darts there every Monday, we go there after every cricket match and it's just where I go if I fancy some company. I live in a small village so it is pretty much the only social outpost

Could of course go there and not drink alcohol but that would be weird

You won't be saying that when you're old enough to buy though tbh

bots 17-03-2018 01:32 PM

To me its not a state that needs to be defined. You drink or you don't. There is no necessity to pigeon hole it
