Arsene Wenger to leave Arsenal at the end of this season

Been manager since 1996.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43834283

I honerstly doubt the next manager will do (much) better than they are doing currently.

Denver 20-04-2018 09:48 AM

The way the fans have treated him is disgusting especially when he has gave most of his career to the club

MTVN 20-04-2018 09:50 AM

About 3 years too late, ruined his legacy by clinging on for too long

AnnieK 20-04-2018 09:52 AM

Without doubt one of the best Premier league managers in his day (98 season I think it was Aresenal were phenomenal) Should have gone a while ago but still an Arsenal legend who deserved better than he got from some of the fans just lately

James 20-04-2018 10:29 AM

Arsenal Fan TV has a lot to answer for in my opinion.

Dont blame the fans who pay the highest ticket prices in Europe.

Again, it's not Robbies fault

It is when you don't get behind him.

You cried for him to spend big so he broke the transfer record twice to sign 2 players who are using the team as a stepping stone .

Without Wenger and Dyche most likely to be his replacement player's won't want to come anymore

GiRTh 20-04-2018 10:42 AM

About time, TBH.

He should have gone after the second recent FA cup. He was a great manager who is in a great part responsible for the success of the Premiership but he has been out of ideas for about four years now. Everyone else has caught up with his techniques and he hasn't moved on. The fact that this year we arent even playing good football was the last straw. This has been coming for a while and I agree James I don't think the next manager will do much better which should in part tell you the kind of mess the club is currently in.

The bookies have Viera as the fave not really someone to take them to the top

Denver 20-04-2018 10:45 AM

I said they should have gone for Tuchel now he is a cert for PSG

I'd like Nagelmann. Young, innovative and progressive but I think Bayern have got their eye on him. Allegri would be a dream as would Jardim. Not too keen on Tuchel but he does know a few of our players already

This is not a new problem. For me, he should have gone in 2014 -2015 cuz two things happened. We won the FA cup by thrashing Villa and it would have been a nice way to go out and the second was we went out of the ECL to Monaco. At the time it was a shock yet now we would be expected to lose to Monaco. An indication of how the club has gone backward in the last five years. It was the way we went out that bothered me and it was the first time I really thought Wenger was finished and the payers were not good enough. It was what you are seeing now. A game where we could not hold on to a lead and lost in the last minute even though we were still going thru with five minute on the clock. It was the first time I really started to doubt Wenger and his methods.

Actually a third thing happened. We finished fourth so Wenger thought all that side needed was a goalkeeper and signed Petr Cech. It was s real  moment for me. The team has had the same problems for about a decade and he still hasn't addressed them

No and no too to Bergkamp or Henry. I want a manager who has coached a set of players for a good few seasons. Id prefer Sean Dyche to Eddie Howe if I'm honest

He was a revolutionary and progressive manager and for that he deserves enormous credit. But the operative word is 'was'. He has been weak tactically for a few years ow.

Denver 20-04-2018 11:32 AM

Brendan Rodgers is another likely one

Brother Leon 20-04-2018 11:33 AM

Sad times. End of an era.

MTVN 20-04-2018 12:07 PM

Be hilarious to have Brendan back in the league, joke of a manager

GiRTh 20-04-2018 12:29 PM

No way can we go from deluded Wenger to deluded Brendan. Please dont even suggest it.:hehe:

The Celtic owner has said he can join Arsenal if he wants which is a very odd thing to say unless there has already been discussions

I dont think he's a long term solution but TBH if he gets us playing decent football again then I'm all for it.

Word is Tuchel is the number one target. He shut out our new chief scout Sven Mislinstat when they were both at Dortmund causing Mislinstat to join Arsenal. At one point he banned him from the training ground so not sure thats gonna work.

Rodgers is a good choice if you wanna ship 50 goals a season and buy 70% average player
