The fact that the White House are trying to equate this with Roseanne's racism (she also called Hillary the c-word, btw) is laughable

Samantha Bee is just an unfunny wreck who doesn't deserve her "fame", but stupid comments which are completely in character for her don't really warrant the advertisers abandoning her.

Also the White House still not apologised for a very sick comment made about cancer sufferer John McCain.

Progression is not trying to undercut racism by shifting focus. That is sliding back, not going forward.

Rosanne has said that she didn't know that the woman was black and thought that she was white, so she didn't believe at the time that she was being racsist.

If I saw a picture of Valerie Jarrett for the first time, I would think she was white too.

Valerie Jarrett has been a long term boogeyman for the insane American right. To say that Roseanne didn't know what she looked like is a flat out lie. She also called Susan Rice (another Obama appointed right wing target) an ape in 2013.

She compared Susan Rice to a man with big balls.

It isn't how ethnicity or race work; "she doesn't look completely black so Roseanne wasn't being racist"

It could just be that Rosanne didn't realise the woman was black, so didn't know making the comparison could have racist implications.
