Why is Jon not liked?

Keep Tickle in I say.

Only trouble is the others up for nomination look like they're getting support because of their looks, and to make matters worse Federico's started speaking Italian! So all the girls will be going weak at the knees at that!

Basically what I'm saying is that I don't like anyone going out after the first week.

Janette 26-05-2003 12:12 AM

I don't know James, I like Jon, he reminds me of that guy in the Halifax adverts:-

"Who gives you extra......." the guy with the round glasses and lovely singing voice?

jon seems nice enough, he certainly shouldn't be voted off for being quiet!

Mairi 26-05-2003 12:16 AM

I thought Jon seemed OK but tonight, in the diary room, he came over as a bit "Tim like" which didn't endear him to me.

I've made no decision as yet but it's between him and Anouska at the moment. Sorry.

:spin2:

James 26-05-2003 12:31 AM

'This hob has electronic boil-start control'

Love anoraky remarks like that!

The Halifax guy was at the football today by the way, presenting the trophy.

I heard that as well, :laugh:I'd be the same with a new gadget. When he said it no one took any notice. :bawling:

It's quite amusing really that we should have to talk about petty things like that as ways to vote someone out next week.

They are all nice people this year, whereas last year, to quote Narinder "I could have voted 6 of them out!"

steve_o 26-05-2003 12:56 AM

A weeks a long time in the bb house by the end of the week we could all thinking very different about who goes.

peachy 26-05-2003 09:58 AM

I like Jon, think he's quite amusing in a quiet way. I can live with the anorak-y remarks, having huge anorak-y tendencies myself...only thing is...and for me this is a big minus...he loves Lord of the Rings and is intent on converting others. I can stand religious nuts ok, but Lord of the Rings, no anything but that.

He spent ages the other afternoon explaining all the characters and the plot.

If he continues he's got to go, lol. although not before Anouska who gets my vote this week.

Amy 26-05-2003 10:21 AM

I think Jons nice and his talk on the lord of the rings yesterday was great   I have to say though i find him still slightly annoying and would rather keep the other housemates in at the moment

Romantic Old Bird 26-05-2003 10:24 AM

Yes, Peachy, that LOTR thing is a barrier I know you find hard to cross. BUT I have to say that whilst not being completely fanatical about it, I do like it.

I also like Jon. I thought he was upbeat and funny in the diary room. Poor chap. I bet the others like him more now as well.

As for the anorakky quality. Great. I have one anorakky son and he is just the best company, despite on occasion having an attack of the 'Tony Blairs' as we all affectionately call it.

Leave Jon alone I say. I'm still for Anouska to go, closely followed by Tania and Federico

Ti penso sempre .

Come sei bella.

Cara mia, ti voglio bene

Not that I am making any flash decisions or anything........

milly 26-05-2003 07:07 PM

i must admit,i'm starting to warm to jon a little bit now,i think he could be alright, given a little bit more time, and also,i want to know what he is going to do with his fake boobs:laugh:

Maggie 26-05-2003 09:39 PM

I watched him early this morning with Cameron Justine and, I think she's called Cissy, [ terrible with names  ]

It's was great they were having a really good laugh and singing away, I really like the four of them, a lovely couple of hours watching them :colour: :spin2: :spin2::colour:

kaphc 26-05-2003 09:45 PM

He did come across as a bit pompous in the diary room, but not in a Tim-like way!!

There seems to be a good connection there between him, Justine, Steph, Cameron and Gos as they are the less extrovert pool-showoff types.

I can't say I like or dislike him at the moment, it's still too early days. And if he's a technie then so what? At least he's being real.

Maggie 26-05-2003 09:49 PM

Just checked, I knew I'd got it wrong, it was Steph  :spin2: :spin2: :spin2:

Kaz 26-05-2003 09:50 PM

Oh dear, I have to admit that Jon bores me rigid!

I watched quite a bit of BB today, being on public holiday, and Jon was boring for Britain about 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Star Wars'. The others appeared to be interested, but I was almost comatose listening to him.

Sorry, everyone but I just can't take to him at all. :bawling:

James 26-05-2003 09:52 PM

Saw this on Digital Spy.

Jon posted on Usenet newsgroups for a while in 1995-96.

Google Groups posts

Stuff like this is the reason Jon has to stay.

He was also a contestant on Blockbusters. We should be seeing that on BBLB soon.

kaphc 26-05-2003 09:56 PM

The Sun says he is the new David Brent and are backing him to stay in.

Read about it here

milly 28-05-2003 07:30 PM

when i saw that dressing gown,i knew he had to stay:hugesmile:

James 28-05-2003 07:47 PM

Best Big Brother dressing gown since Helen's

milly 28-05-2003 07:57 PM

well if he's got no one else,he's got us james:laugh:

peachy 28-05-2003 08:01 PM

oh do keep Jon in everyone, I just loved his attempt at making a solar powered pool heater, he is such good value.

Kaz, you must go with the flow with him. He is such a nerd, but I like him and at least he does have a thought in his head, even if it is an excruciatingly boring one.

I must admit that the hairy shoulders are pretty repulsive, lol. I fear that the hot weather has sealed his fate.:bawling:

Mairi 28-05-2003 08:35 PM

I admit that I'm warming to him a little more now. Paul bored me stupid with his stories in the early days of BB2 so, for that reason alone, perhaps I should NOT vote for Jon to leave on Friday!!

BTW, I like the dressing gown too!

Peachy . . . . dear Peachy . . . . . I've tried SO hard over the last couple of days, but tonight's C4 BB programme was the last straw!

Big Brother: Good morning, John.

John: Yeah, . . . . what's the line from the book? Is it good morning? Is it that you wish it is a good morning? Is it that you wish me a good morning, or wish it were a good morning? Emmmmm, anyway, good morning.

AARRGGHHHHHHHHHH!

Enough! :spin2:
