Was Charley offended?

Everyone on BBBM seems to think so. And I completely agree.

It was so obvious that she was offended.

Mike 07-06-2007 10:29 PM

How can we know for sure, one minute she wasn't bothered and then the next she she couldn't stop going on about it. One of those things where only she knows the truth, something she might only admit after the show.

Psylocke 07-06-2007 10:30 PM

I think when it sank in both Charley AND Nikki were offended.

Princess 07-06-2007 10:32 PM

She so was. If she wasn't she would have have kept going on about it for hours after. Also she did look upset.

Yup...but I will also say that when it was said in the garden it gobsmacked her and it truely winded her.... she was shocked

Chrizzle 07-06-2007 10:34 PM

I actually gasped at the comment, even though I knew it was coming.
It was said so clearly, and quickly.

Blink and you'd have missed it

Red Moon 07-06-2007 10:36 PM

You could see it in her face she was really shocked.

~SAMZ~ 07-06-2007 10:38 PM

i think she was genuinly offended but just heard her on bbbm and she is thinking about the headlines so i think as far as she is concerned emily has wrongly done her a favour

Dan_ 07-06-2007 11:20 PM

The look on her face as soon as it happened told it's own story, she was clearly bothered by it.

Whats In A Word !

Im Sorry ! But I Didnt She How Charlie Was Offended By The Comment Emiley Made ! If She Was Offened She Would Have Said Something At That Time ! She Had Time To Think About What Emiley Said And Then Acted On It By Half Telling The Other Housemates !

Dont Get Me Wrong Its An Awful Word Should Have Never Been Used ! But Lets Think About This ! Who Has Been The Most Offencive Homsemate ? Charlie Of Course ! I Think She Know How She Acted In The Past Week And Used The Situation To Her Advantage !

Charley WAS clearly offended at the time even though she pretended not to be, but after a minute or so, she kept saying "i am very shocked by this" and was clearly quite disturbed that this middle-class, stuck up girl had the guts to call her a ni**** to her face. It is shocking in the context and very wrong.

Who has been the most offensive housemate? At first I thought Charley but Emily was seeping out a malicious side to her, day-by-day.

Rory 08-06-2007 06:21 AM

I'm sorry. I couldn't read your post as smoothly as I have read other posts. 'Maybe Because It Is All Typed Like A Title"

but that's okay. Anyway, I have to say Charley acted mature about it at first, but then started telling other housemate. Charley did have a right to be offended, though. I don't know why it's fine for her to use the term while Emily can't. That is discrimination no matter what.

The thing is, in fact, if Charley was terribly offended, why she didn't talk to Big Brother or why Big Brother didn't call her to the diary room ? I like Charley but the producers needed to ask her before expulse Emily. That decision was taken too quickly, maybe because the producers did not want an other scandal as the CBB5 one. Ok, Emily said something offensive, but it doesn't explain why Big Brother took that decision so quickly.

She was definitely offended - she wouldn't have brought it up constantly otherwise; she just couldn't let it go. And her initial reaction was truly gobsmacked. I think the reason she kept acting bothered and then not bothered was because she didn't know how to deal with the situation at all, and was feeling insecure and worried about it. That's the conclusion I came to anyway.

It is a nasty word and Emily should not have said it. Charlie admitted that she had said that word herself. Why was it ok for Charlie to say it ? Why was nobody offended when Charlie used that word ?

Amy 08-06-2007 08:13 AM

Yes she was offended.

Mrluvaluva 08-06-2007 09:26 AM

Charley was definitely visibly shocked.

CassetteFinger 08-06-2007 10:19 AM

im not sure if she was offended she was just in shock that she just came out with it she was pretty upset when she found out emily was chucked out because of it.

GiRTh 08-06-2007 10:23 AM

She was definitely offended and I think she handled itsuperbly.

Big Brother just can't win, can they? If they hadn't acted so quickly, there probably would be no more BB.

Yes, Charley was offended. It's in the eyes ... the look in her eyes said it all.

xkatex 08-06-2007 02:03 PM

I think she was shocked more than anything you could see in her face she didn't know how to take it. She kept saying it was a joke but then she'd look as if she was upset by it!

Emilee 08-06-2007 02:56 PM

Yer i dont think she was completely offended.... more shocked that emily said it.
