Customer Service problems from a staffs point of view

Feel free to share

I hate people who talk on the phone/to whoever they are with instead of paying

I hate people who count every penny out of their purse, its 2019 use contactless sad people

People who take their time

Niamh. 25-06-2019 03:26 PM

Not in customer service now but when I worked in a bar i actually had a person whistle at me one time to get my attention

When people blame YOU for the fact that THEY did not put a price on their own bet and therefore lost out on more money because YOU should have been psychic and realised they wanted it even when they didn't.

People who reply like **** when you ask if they need a bag, as if it's inconceivable that they could have possibly brought their own with them.

tbf it can be quite annoying when you have just hoiked two big bags for life onto the packing area, and the daftie still asks you if you want a bag for the 5 items you have on the belt, I know its automatic pilot or maybe they are told they have to ask everyone but maybe exercise a bit of common sense

I was referring to customers who clearly have no bags on them.

I used to get this quite a lot. I got round it kind of by simply asking “did you bring any bags with you or do you need to buy one/some”. Even this still caused problems for example

Me: Did you bring any bags or do you need to buy some?
Customer: Yes

Is that a yes you have one or you need to buy one? Some people are too blunt sometimes.

actually I think in Lidl and Aldi the staff dont ask about bags they just chuck the stuff at speed into the packing area and you return the favour by firing on all cylinders into a trolley and slink off and pack it else where

Oh I pack my stuff there and then whilst getting glares as they're already pelting the next customer's shopping through the till.

I hate it it when they count out the money in change and after 5 mins realise they dont have enough and ask to pay by card

Samm 25-06-2019 05:09 PM

when I used to work in retail I hated and I mean HATED when customers would ask for a bag after they've paid or say no and then say yes after

Yeah I only normally buy a few items from there at a time, but I can't imagine the STRESS if you do a big shop there on your own :omgno:

i purposely take my time packing my bags just to annoy the person at the till and the people queuing behind, it's very satisfying and a lot less stressful

Working in Boots is an absolute nightmare.

‘Do you have a Boots card?’
‘Oh yes I do love!
*looks around purse for two minutes*
‘It must be in me other purse love!’
‘Ok i’ll validate your receipt you have thirty days to bring it in’
‘IT’S HERE’
*passes me card after I’ve closed the transaction*

The reason I don’t bother asking fot them if my managers not in earshot. Fff

user104658 25-06-2019 06:22 PM

I hate... err... customers. I hate when they think they know what they're talking about when they don't have a clue. I hate when they're wrong and get angry about how right they are. I hate that they don't notice that no one in the building ****ing cares about their "customer experience" and wants them to promptly piss off. I hate that they think the declaration that they'll "call customer services" is a legitimate threat, and not actually a joke. The customer is not always right. The customer is usually completely wrong. And 50% of the time they also have B.O.

I left retail management a month ago after 9 and a half years and it's up there with one of the best days of my life :worry:.
