Tesco becomes first UK supermarket to sell plasters for different skin tones after an employee saw a viral tweet by an emotional black man who'd finally found one to match his complexion
  • Plasters in dark, medium and light shades are available in store and online today
  • Inclusive move followed a viral tweet shared by Dominique Apollon last year
  • He claimed he was holding back tears after finding plaster to match his skin tone
  • No UK supermarket had ever stocked plasters in a range of skin tones before
£1

About time, well done tesco.

Cherie 24-02-2020 02:15 PM

I don't think I have ever found a plaster that matches my skin tone and its not something I ever really thought about :hee:

Cherie 24-02-2020 02:16 PM

They range from orange to see through, I guess the POTUS will be okay :omgno:

Kazanne 24-02-2020 02:23 PM

Everyones blood is red, the purpose of a plaster is to stop bleeding along with other things , who cares what colour it is

Let the market decide. If no-one buys them, they'll stop being made.

But if something like this is what people decide to spend their time thinking about, they can keep them on the shelves by taking them off the shelves.

I don't get cut so never need them :smug:

Marsh. 24-02-2020 02:48 PM

I've never really been bothered enough to hide a plaster that it needed to be in my skin tone.

My friends daughter's big toe nail came off when she fell and she was going on a sun holiday soon after so she covered it with a plaster and painted the toenail section of it with nail varnish, you would hardly notice it wasn't a real toenail

To be honest, most of my plasters have been bright blue. Need to be seen in kitchens..for obvious reasons.

Crimson Dynamo 24-02-2020 03:30 PM

I do not use plasters around a finger as i dont like anything constricting me (i wear a very loose watch too). If i cut myself usually i just use a bit of sellotape to stop the bleeding

Gone are the days when the only colour car you could buy was black.

If think people will buy the cheap ones regardless of colour.

These are Tesco's own, cheap as they come (and will fall off after 20 minutes). The only plaster worth buying is proppa Elastoplast .

You may think this is because Marsh doesn't wear open-toed sandals; but it is in fact because he has never been to a wedding as he has no friends.

There's nothing worse than seeing a plaster floating in a swimming pool as well, the panic that sets in when you spot it and you're frantically trying to get away from it

...I know that’s not true because he borrowed a pair of mine last time...they fit him like a velvet glove, so he has no need for plasters on his feet...
