Do you put eggs in the fridge?
I’ve just noticed the top shelf in my fridge has an egg holder thing, but I’ve never put eggs in the fridge and I don’t think it actually makes them last any longer? :suspect:
|
Yeh. But only to keep the kitchen tidy looking, not because I actually care where they’re stored.
|
No
|
Yes I put them in the fridge
I get an extra 2 weeks extension on using them. Never ill. |
No...I have an egg basket. They are not sold from a refrigerated area so its obviously not important that that is how they should be stored.
|
Yes, saves space in the kitchen.

You are not meant to put British eggs in the fridge, it weakens them and makes Salmonella more likely
|
No I have a lovely egg basket instead
how can you not buy eggs  so if you had a fry up you wouldn't have an egg? |

Pro: Refrigeration can double an egg’s shelf life Storing your eggs in the fridge is the best way to keep bacteria under control. As an added bonus, it also keeps eggs fresher for much longer than storing them at room temperature. While a fresh egg stored at room temperature will start to decline in quality after a few days and need to be used within 1–3 weeks, eggs kept in the refrigerator will maintain quality and freshness for at least twice as long (15Trusted Source, 16Trusted Source, 17Trusted Source). Con: Eggs can absorb flavors in the fridge Eggs can absorb odors and flavors from other foods in your fridge, such as freshly cut onions. However, storing eggs in their carton and sealing foods with strong odors in airtight containers can prevent this occurrence. Con: Eggs shouldn’t be stored in the fridge door Many people keep their eggs in their fridge door. However, this can subject them to fluctuations in temperature every time you open your fridge, which could encourage bacterial growth and impair the eggs’ protective membranes (4Trusted Source). Therefore, keeping eggs on a shelf near the back of your refrigerator is best. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition...frigerate-eggs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

fridge of course. However, a top tip if you are boiling an egg is to leave it out for a few mins before boiling and this stops the shell from cracking
