What’s your attitude to sleep like?

Would you skip to the next day if you could or is it the highlight of your day?

Niamh. 15-04-2021 06:42 AM

Sleeping is my favourite

joeysteele 15-04-2021 07:26 AM

I always look forward to sleeping, however right from being in my teens, I've not been able to sleep for longer than 6 hours.

Also once awake, no way can I drop off to sleep again.

Kazanne 15-04-2021 07:35 AM

I love to sleep, although like Joey I never get a full night.

Cherie 15-04-2021 07:48 AM

Proper sleep is very important for health both physical and mental

Sleep is for the weak? never heard of that how ridiculous

Can you drop off to sleep after you wake Kazanne.

I often wish I could but no way, once awake, I've had it just have to get up.

Mind you with my Staffie that's very easy to do.:joker:

I used to be a skilled sleeper  Able to sleep 12 hours straight anywhere whilst bombs went off around me. Now, I get around 5-6hours a night and like Joey, the minute I open my eyes, that's it I'm up. I think its down to my son being a terrible sleeper when he was little. He now sleeps like a teenager and I've turned into my mum moaning about how late he sleeps when he's not in school.

I love sleep. I love the sensation of getting cosy under a quilt, your head hitting the pillow and I have so many interesting dreams that I look forward to seeing what my brain comes up with next

GoldHeart 15-04-2021 08:50 AM

When my sleep pattern is steady (which it is ATM) , then I always look forward to rest and a good night's sleep.

As ridiculous as it might be it's a common expression.

I used to have that dreams mindset in mind when it came to sleep but it's only very rarely that I actually remember my dreams (just like most people) so I'm not even consciously aware of my dreaming experiences 99% of the time.

How much would you sleep in an ideal world?

9 hours a night would be my ideal but during the week when I have to get up early I usually get 7 and a half hours on average

Gotcha. Doing night shifts works for me in the sense that I always get a sense of satisfaction from being able to retreat into bed for a couple of hours when everyone else is bracing themselves for rush hour. Especially during the autumn/winter months.

I think I hit a record for straight sleep after one of those shifts (a whole 12 hours). It was weird waking up at 2am the next day but I never felt more rested and recharged.

Crimson Dynamo 15-04-2021 09:10 AM

I’m so good at sleeping that I can do it with my eyes closed.

Redway 15-04-2021 09:12 AM

Is that why you proposed a six-day working week the other time?

Sometimes I can doze of for 10mins or so Joey, but not sleep properly, like you I have a dog ,and a cat that need attention, besides hubby and kids :joker:

Jake. 15-04-2021 09:45 AM

Yeah, I need it - not the same person without my sleep. I’m such a light sleeper too so that doesn’t help

Jessica. 15-04-2021 10:33 AM

I absolutely adore sleeping

Redway 15-04-2021 10:37 AM

Do you nap during the day where you can?

smudgie 15-04-2021 10:38 AM

I love my bed.
Stay in it as long as I can, I sleep for a couple of hours at a time but I normally nod back off again.
If there is nothing happening I stay in bed until 10 ish. I like an afternoon nap for 3-4 hours as well.

No if I nap during the day, I can't sleep at night and I hate that :oh:

Unless I’m extremely exhausted or really ill, I struggle to tbh

I do but usually if I ever nap it's when my fiancé is having a nap too, I find it easier to nap when he's with me.
