In the past 6 months.

Yay me.

Alf 18-06-2022 07:19 PM

That's a coincidence because I've gone up two dress sizes.

Alf 18-06-2022 07:23 PM

Well done by the way Kate.

Best way to lose weight without even trying is give up meat and dairy if you can, I didnt need to lose weight but found when I did this I lost it anyway, its not for everyone, but its super healthy too. well done Kate btw.

That defies science.

Only way to lose weight is a calorie deficit. Find out your maintenance level, in essence the amount of calories you need just to function, and then subtract 500 from that for a healthy and sustained loss.....then as you plateau, if you do, change this accordingly.

So if you cut out dairy and meat, but still go over what your body requires for energy then this will turn to excess weight.

This is it in very simplified, non BS talk that isn't overly complicated.

For weight gain be in a calorie surplus and add 500.

I had my treat day yesterday so I am back on it today.

If we want to get slightly confusing, then not every calorie is a calorie.... TEF which is the thermogenic effect of food.....which basically means how many calories does it take for our body to burn off that food...that's why not every calorie is a calorie... For example, chicken might be 250 calories, but it takes 50 calories to digest and burn that food.... So you do have a point with meat, but you can still overeat, obviously, and consume more calories than your body needs for energy.... With TEF, protein takes the most calories to digest, then carbs and then fats... So if you eat a food which is really high on fats, let's say a cookie and it's 200 calories, it's pretty much 200 calories... If that makes sense

Well done Kate [emoji122]

Kate! 19-06-2022 10:28 AM

Thanks everyone. It's mostly due to cutting right down on alcohol although I have had some. And having veggies instead of chips with meals.
