Kazanne 31-08-2022 09:37 AM

I watched it arista ,all that came across to me is his constant saying " I want to be the next PM", no real solutions to anything, but we will see.

bots 31-08-2022 09:42 AM

what he is basically saying is the country can't afford to nationalise all the industries he wants to. After all, it has to be funded by the people and we ain't got any money

Kazanne 31-08-2022 09:58 AM

He also would not stand by the strikers, I don't think he said it directly but he said he would not join them.

bots 31-08-2022 10:02 AM

i've been saying it for a bit now that i think the probability of riots is pretty high. If Keir joined the picket lines then he would be associated with any rioting that happens by default. My guess is that is the reason he doesn't want to be associated with the strikes

You've mentioned that you vote tory and love Boris, (I believe you're a former labour voter) so why would you hold being a tory against Starmer, out of interest?

Obviously for folks like me, that's a massive issue, but not for Tories.

The Slim Reaper 31-08-2022 01:58 PM

I know people like to mock O-J, but he is 100% correct in that clip, and he works at the Guardian, so he definitely was not a cheerleader for Corbyn. Starmer, actually was, though.

It was a twitter vid he posted a while back (I think), he wasn't on the show saying that.

The Slim Reaper 31-08-2022 02:13 PM

Can't afford to privatise so he wants to spend x10-15 more to pay off energy companies

Kaz never said anything about Tories? The world isn't split between those who support every single strike, and Tories.

Has he said why he isn't, btw?

I was asking why a labour leader acting like a tory, is a problem for another tory. I didn't understand why not supporting strikes would make her highlight it as an issue.

When has he acted like a Tory?

As quick examples, he whipped the party to abstain on the most of the freedom restricting bills the tories introduced (protest/crime), and he's scrapped every single one of the 10 pledges he used to get elected as leader.

He's scrapped his energy nationalisation pledge, which would cost £2-5billion, in favour of freezing prices and paying energy companies over £30billion instead, besides the only policy he's offered being a reduction of business taxes.

He stands against workers, and gives interviews to the sun when saying he never would.
