Oliver_W 10-04-2023 11:56 AM

Well it literally is  but labelling it as such seems like an attempt to discredit it.

The BBC does not want it,
their tech reporter in California
Emails Elon.

Elon gives the fella some time
replying twice.

Now that is Nice of the Busy CEO
to give the BBCnews his time,
he likes the BBC News.

No it is telling the World
how the BBC is
helped to do good news

[Billionaire Musk said Twitter is aiming for
'maximum transparency and accuracy']

James 10-04-2023 12:23 PM

It is generally accurate as the licence fee is a form of taxation set by the government.

However you have to take into account that the BBC are legally required to be editorially independent and impartial, and that is different from some other state-controlled media around the world.

The other legitimate complaint the BBC would have over this label is that it has only been (as yet) added to a select-few accounts. There are many more government-funded media accounts on Twitter, probably thousands if you include all the people that work for these organisations.

arista 10-04-2023 12:39 PM

Yes
So far, just a Few BBC Accounts.

Sure, the BBC is worried as some other bad nations
also have that added.

They will have to rise above that.

Cherie 10-04-2023 12:46 PM

Shouldn't it say publically funded media?

Musk has to told the BBC
he will change it.

It will say Publicly Funded.

He has given a hour interview
to James Clayton.

But the BBC keeps showing bits of that interview,
