Oasis to reform?

Strong rumours that Oasis are getting back together.

Alf 22-05-2023 09:19 PM

The rumour is that there will be a string of gigs at Knebworth in 2025.

Oasis old rivals, Blur, will be releasing their ninth album on the 21st of July, titled "The Ballad of Darren"

Brit-pop is making a come-back.

Good luck to them trying to survive the era of the mumble and the autotune.

Zizu 23-05-2023 11:49 AM

I wonder if they will as popular ??

I was a fan of most of their stuff and being Manchester born I didn’t mind their laddishness or swagger … BUT every time I see or hear Noel Gallagher on telly / radio he’s simply obnoxious and I can’t abide him now

I’ve always liked Liam and I can see why he doesn’t get on with his brother

Come back gigs will be massive. Like it was when the Stone Roses re-formed a few years ago. A lot of the fans at the Roses reunion gigs wouldn't have been alive when they were first around but they knew every song they did. It will be the same at Oasis - a lot will be fans who never had chance to see them live back in the day and will sell out instantly.

I've seen Liam a good few times on his solo tours and everyone goes wild for the Oasis stuff he does.

I don't know if they would be as successful putting out new music but the gigs would make them an absolute fortune on their own

there is no real money in music streaming these days, so live concert tours is where performers make their money. A few days at knebworth will generate enough cash to see them out

So is that where all those rappers ( even the less known ones ) earn all their millions £€$

it is a simple fact, streaming is now the advertising vehicle for the live concerts. Thats how the system now works

Sure

Let's see if Olivia Rodrigo's songs are known by future generations and they are begging for tours in years to come

I heard an interview with Noel on the radio this morning and he said they're not reforming

bots 02-06-2023 09:18 AM

i never liked the personalities behind oasis but there is no denying they could write a good tune

Niamh. 02-06-2023 09:22 AM

Liam was an excellent front man especially if you were a teenager in the 90's

From everything I’ve seen Liam is a nice enough bloke ( typical Mank attitude) but Noel is just simply arrogant/obnoxious..

Don’t know what he’s been taking / doing but he’s just unbearable to watch or listen to

I hope so. I would love to see them play live.

I've seen them loads - its always an experience.

I've seen both of them on solo tours too - Liam is far more of a showman, Noel is the brains behind Oasis.

Noel was on with Johnny Vaughan this week and said probably no to a reunion but if someone stuffed £8 million in a bag and gave it him he'd do it
