[Didn't the Tories used to be the party of tax CUTS? Britain faces an extra £114billion bill by next year's General Election amounting to £3,500 per household in biggest set of tax rises since WW2 The Government will raise £3,500 per household by next year's election Stealth taxes and a hike in corporation tax are among key policies blamed] https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...nt-record.html |
Waste of time are these party conferences as they are held now.
Just nothing of note in any of them. Unless some real battle or controversial issue comes about. Boring people to death is more the order of the day in the conferences. Even Labour doesn't provide any argumentative entertainment anymore. |
"Unless some real battle or controversial issue comes about."
Yes Live on Sunday morning Although knowing Sunak he may record the interview before - the sneak. |

[The boss of Iceland supermarkets, who had
hoped to become a Conservative MP, has quit the party, labelling it "out of touch". The attack from Richard Walker came on the eve of the annual Conservative conference, as delegates gathered in Manchester. Mr Walker told the BBC's Laura Kuenssberg that the party was losing touch with business and consumers. The Conservatives declined to comment on the record.] Yes , Walker has been saying this for years nothing new. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-66972357 |
PM Sunak now on BBC1HD or BBCnewsHD
Laura says it is Live? |
I'm pleased Richard Walker has seen sense.
He's still always tried to support the Cons in interviews, and wanted to stand as a Con MP. Yet he's seeing them move away from just about all that is right, decent and even sincerely meant. Good luck to him. Maybe if they really lose heavily the next election, they'll be shaken into becoming again the Party he hoped and thought they were. |
