Noky and her selfish imaginary wedding

1. I want my wedding to be abroad - so her family and friends are out of pocket to the tune of thousands

2. I want my wedding to be during the week - so you have to eat up your own personal holiday days to attend

what a selfish entitled person

LT are you feeling ok ? , it's not that serious.

However if someone I knew got married thousands of miles away, it's unlikely I'd travel all that way. I'd just wish them all the best .

rusticgal 19-10-2023 11:02 AM

Yes I have gone right off her the last couple of days.

Niamh. 19-10-2023 11:02 AM

I was watching with my daughter last night and I said the exact same thing to her. She basically said I want to inconvenience my guests as much as possible as a test to see who loves me most. So selfish and entitled

I guess Noky is getting evicted next now just because of a flippant comment about her hypothetical wedding plans .

In the highlights show last night (or maybe it was a clip shown on Late & Live?)

I know but it went over my head ,was she even being serious :joker:  ? .....they were all bored sat taking turns nominating. It's literally a hypothetical situation, but like I said I'm not being out of pocket for a friend who goes to ...I don't know, the Bahamas to get married . I'd congratulate them from my home in the UK lol.

It's interesting about wedding talk ,as Yinrun was discussing that with Dylan aswell.

She sounded like she meant it and the people reacting thought she'd said something revolutionary  Imagine being a close friend of hers that just couldn't afford it or to take time off work, would they fail her test then for not getting themselves in debt to go to her wedding?

…maybe she’s looking for the prize money to pay for all of her guests to go to a lovely far off place and have a lifetime holiday…so they’ll be happy to take some of their annual leave for such a dream time…

…actually, I haven’t been to a weekend wedding for a while, weekday weddings are very popular and many employers allow some paid time off for them/…with discretion…

Really? ,I don't think I've ever been to a weekday wedding...not to sound morbid, but usually I associate funerals with weekdays.

I guess it depends like you say on if they get time off work, and maybe she'll pay for them .

….hmmmmm, I possibly just have very selfish/entitled friends and relatives..…but yeah, most of the weddings I’ve been to over the last few years have been weekday ones…actually, I haven’t asked about cost etc but maybe a weekday is cheaper than a weekend in terms of venues and ceremony/service costs etc…so that’s a thing as well, I guess…

It's interesting though , I'm now wondering what a weekday wedding is like...I kind of want to experience it , if my schedule was clear and if it was still in the UK . As I'm not catching a plane ... just for a wedding :joker: .

Crimson Dynamo 19-10-2023 12:19 PM

Unless its a reg office dop no bride would want a weekday wedding

its meant to be special

…actually I just googled if it was cheaper because it sparked my interest, it’s something I hadn’t thought of and would never ask…this site came up first…

https://www.hitched.co.uk/wedding-pl...0a%20Wednesday.

‘Opting for a weekday is one of the best ways to save money on your wedding venue. There is almost always a separate rate for weekend and weekday venue hire – in fact, sometimes the price difference is great enough to convince couples to wed on a Wednesday. Many wedding venues offer special weekday deals, allowing you to splurge what you’ve saved on something else to make your wedding (or honeymoon) even more amazing.

Some suppliers also offer discounted rates for weekday weddings so it’s always worth checking when you enquire.’

…it’s so expensive for couples these days so looking at their options and what’s affordable is the only way…

It's understandable when you think how ridiculously expensive the average wedding is . Sky is the limit from anywhere from 10k -upwards . So I don't blame couples looking for cheaper options & bargains.

I also can see their point of view, when some of them just opt for a quiet get together, rather than a big stressful event.
