the ANTI Fern Brigade

OMG the deliberate mis representation of a lovely woman on here is sickening. I forgot how much it annoyed me when this happened. Fern lost both parents and her marriage in a short space of time and has been out of the public eye for a few years. Coming back is bound to be emotional for her.

She's been fair, fun, calm, supportive, open and honest. A thoroughly lovely decent woman and people are STILL picking holes in her

Ive worked in tv industry for 20 years. Not one person has a bad word to say about her.

The backlash here astonishing

Stop trying to paint her into a villain corner! Its despicable

Mystic Mock 16-03-2024 09:42 AM

It's the name of the game unfortunately.

Sometimes decent people can get torn apart by some of the public on Reality TV, if it means that their personal favourite ends up winning instead.

Big Brother can in particular be bad for tribalism in the fandom, I still remember the Lewis F year where apparently everyone else was wrong, and he was right 100% of the time in every argument.

Basically my point being that I wouldn't take it to heart about any negative opinions on Fern, as it's more than likely one of two things happening.

1. Strategic attacks from opposition fans to dishearten Fern fans from voting for her to win.

Or 2. Some of her detractors just don't understand her personality very well.

Because Fern doesn't strike me as the type to be malevolent.

Good she did not go last night

Here for Fern all the way.
She is the one getting them to play all the games, having fun.
Compassionate lady with a good streak of mischief in her.
Waste of time anybody trying to hoodwink her as she is really on the ball.

OnTheRight 16-03-2024 10:28 AM

She is so boring.

That's really all that needs to be said. I don't hate the woman or anything. I even thought people were taking her OF joke the wrong way and blowing it completely out of proportion. I doubt there are many people on this forum who feel strongly strongly enough about her to even so much as dislike her. She's just incredibly dull and I don't think keeping her in was worth the expense of losing more entertaining HMs like Lauren and Ekin-Su.

She has played a bigger part in the series than the likes of Nikita, Coulson, Bradley and David.....these lads however nice they are I really dont know any more about them from the day they walked in.

Fern is lovely and she has been opinionated...she is just a lovely lady and although I don't think she will win...she is my winner by far.

Ray. 16-03-2024 10:40 AM

That's something I'll half-agree with in her defence: she is definitely more interesting and less annoying than Bradley and Nikita. Nikita needing constant reassurance for about five solid minutes last night was perhaps the single most annoying thing any HM has done all series imo.

They are boring too.
The whole series has been pretty crap. It's only Louis, ZeZe and Ekin who have made it worth watching. Once Louis and Zeze go the final few days will be and absolute borefest full of dullness and fake tears.

I loved that Fern had Ekin Sues number from the start a very astute person I think, nothing wrong with being emotional it shows you care. She was supportive to Marrissa after she got so upset over the noms she has joined in all the tasks and mixed with them all the housemates seem to love her apart from Ekin Sue and Louis but think Louis could be winding people up, she has a lovely kind face and I see nothing to dislike so far, as for noms ,lol, bang on.

Vanessa 16-03-2024 11:56 AM

I just find her boring.

Beso 16-03-2024 12:22 PM

Shes not boring.

People mistake niceness for boring all the time. Dont feel bad.

Your loaded and entirely subjective appraisal of 'saintly' Fern', couched in the emotive detritus of invoking the death of her parents and the divorce
from her second husband as a sop to the gullible .suggests a self-inflicted blindness to what others may see.
If the Fern which you depict as piety incarnate or, indeed, the embodiment of the holly trinity, is indeed a trestament to purity, what on Earth is she doing amidst the pubicity seekers in the BB house. Should she not, more properly, be whiling away the hours in a convent in a distant land, far away from the temptations of big paydays for mixing with the bourgeoisie in the BB house or, like all the other witlings, courting publicity and the acclaim of the masses. Perhaps she was given the wrong directions for getting to the convent Nirvana high up in the Himalayas and ended up in the money-spinning BB house by the purest of chances?

Your gushing claim that she is "fair, fun, calm, supportive, open and honest. A thoroughly lovely decent woman and people are STILL picking holes in her" is risible. She is supportive only of those she deems to represeent no threat to her. To the younger and moderatively attractive Ekin Su her conduct was conspicuous by the absence of all of the qualities you attribute to her. She put he boot in whenever she could - slyly, silently and wth the skill of an assassin who has honed her craft during years of service in the backbiting tv industry.
.In spite of the observations above, I have nothing against the old crow, but I decline to don tinted glasses when observing her occasonally remarkably underhanded antics n the house.

Beso 16-03-2024 12:33 PM

Shes just playing the game..

rusticgal 16-03-2024 05:06 PM

I wish people could tell me what the rest of them have done that makes them more entertaining (apart from Louis)….I mean the most I have seen from the boys are them licking each others elbows…

I'm supporting Louis. Yes most of them are rather dull.

Well after nominating Ekin-Su, boring Fern is now the best thing since sliced bread.

Apparently.

bots 16-03-2024 06:36 PM

there are no drama queens in the season (with the possible exception of David) No one is providing that aspect that is usually a feature of BB. The worst louis has done are a few less than diplomatic quips. So why is Fern being singled out?

Jordan. 16-03-2024 07:16 PM

Showed her true colours with her deeply personal nomination of Ekin-Su. Wicked lady.

This group is foul.

The truth is, though, that merely having a different interpretation or opinion about a housemate is not hatred or targeting. It is just a different perception, and who can say who is right or wrong, as no-one can get inside a housemate’s head and truly know the motives for their words, actions and behaviours.

This is why opinions should be presented as merely opinions, rather than facts. Just because someone chooses to state a point of view is correct, it doesn’t mean it is.

Good post Garfie, we like (dislike) people for different reasons.
