Miss Alabama
Have you seen it?
What's all that about? |
|
crazy
|
Well considering Jessica Meuse is the most attractive woman in Alabama, this competition is null and void.:hmph:
|
Is the girl in the left picture the current Miss Alabama?
If so then I've got to be brutally honest and say that it's ****ed up, and kind of goes against the purpose of a beauty contest. It'd be like voting me as Mr. Tamworth.:joker: |
I've found an article talking about this topic.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/...d=BingNewsSerp Honestly what the absolute ****? I bet that the male equivalent isn't getting a Rick Waller type of winner. It's clearly wrong for a couple of very obvious reasons, and I know that it sounds horrible what I'm saying, but it's true that morbidly obese women shouldn't be winning a beauty contest. Again, common sense has gone out of the window. |

This morbidly obese girl will likely not make 40 years old due to her size Its grotesque to reward overeating and pretend she is pretty grotesque |

The fact that the se competitions exist at all is BS so really who wins or doesn't win it is moot. It shouldnt be a thing at all.

However as the competition does exist, I will therefore judge it on the criteria that I know is a big part of their contest, which is the beauty of the contestants. Now don't get me wrong, I get that beauty is subjective, but I don't believe that she was given Miss Alabama because they thought that she was the prettiest or the nicest person, they gave it her to give themselves good PR within a certain niche branch of Feminism (that normally tends to hangout on Twitter,) and basically are encouraging young women who follow these Shows into thinking that being drastically overweight is a beauty standard. And for some reason there are some crazy people on the Internet that would prefer seeing a woman slowly killing herself by eating 20 slices of Pizza a day, than a woman be healthy and physically attractive to men. Thankfully it's not the majority, but there's definitely enough of them out there to hold influence, even on the things that one of me or yourself might like, SB. |

she is fat and pretending she isn't is dishonest facts don't care about your feelings |

If that's fatshaming, then I'll join him on this crusade, it's a hill I'm very much willing to die on. |

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Do we think this girl doesn't understand that being overweight is dangerous? What I do think is shameful is some 40 year old ex-soft porn model shaming her while trying to drum up fans for herself. That said, why any woman would want to join in the cattle-market competitions is beyond me.

Male or female, it's not something that should be being endorsed. The fact that saying this is apparently fatshaming these days is absolutely crazy to me. I hold nothing personal against the woman who won the competition, if anything I do feel sorry for her, she's being encouraged to slowly kill herself. |
well said Mock

And I'm not a fan of beauty pageants to begin with, yeah people might the whole premise is shallow and superficial, but that's what these competitions are all about. Beauty & health sells . It's no different to when pretty models are advertising brands on TV  . Imagine if Chris Hemsworth got replaced on the Hugo Boss ad for some obese Austin powers character,I don't think it would have the same effect with audiences. Whether people like to admit it or not ,we prefer to look at athletic sexy attractive people as it's more visually appealing. |
