Vegetables you don’t like

I’ll start with lettuce and cucumber. Yuck to both.

Crimson Dynamo 09-06-2024 07:54 PM

Cucumber and aubergine are the only 2 I dislike. Peas in peapods are my favourite and raw carrots

Redway 09-06-2024 08:00 PM

Mushy peas, if they count. Yuck.

I’ve got to admit, I absolutely love mushrooms. The lighter they’re fried the better.

I've really grown to like those disgusting looking things in recent times.

…same as with Annie…especially mushrooms as there is nothing redeeming about them whatsoever…the texture is awful, the colour is awful and the taste matches both of those…there ain’t mush room for mushrooms in mine or Annie’s life…I don’t like celery in its raw state but if it’s completely hidden in something, I can eat it…there’s no place to hide for a mushroom, though…I’ll always know it’s there…

…I think that mushrooms might have been the reason that Trump needed that big wall to stop the Mexican food from crossing…

Mushrooms are a fave. I don't eat Marrow, swede, parsnips and 1 sprout on a plate is enough for me.

Niamh. 10-06-2024 09:55 AM

I like mushrooms if they're fried really well done, I don't like the consistency of them when they're not almost burned, especially those jelly ones yuck

Not a fan of garden peas. Hate sweet potato as well

One sprout on a plate is one too many. Even if the nicest roast or coconut-jollof rice with turkey and goose and a sprinkling of saffron is accompanying it. They almost contaminate the food for me.

That and beetroot (don’t mind the taste of beets, just don’t like the idea of it/them) are two other vegetables I don’t like. I don’t just like the idea of or associations I have about dill, either. If that one counts. Man ain’t into any of that crap.

I’m the opposite of Niamh in the sense that I like my mushrooms to only be fried a little. I can eat them raw, even.
Don’t particularly like garden peas but I can work around (hesitantly with) them, even if it means swallowing them whole and not having to chew in the taste. Mushy peas can stay away, though.

I'll eat garden peas if they're mixed into something like a curry or shepards pie, hate them on their own though. I like Mushy pies, especially Mushy pie fritters from the chipper yummy

I'm with you on the Sweet potato and also a big sprout fan

Redway 11-06-2024 04:09 PM

Because of association at least (not a big fan of sour cream, unless it's mixed for coleslaw in moderation, emphasis on moderation), I can more than do without chives. But at the same time I know it'll be in a lot of the pot noodles I eat (which isn't often, to be fair).
