Experiences with E Bay? Good, bad or indifferent?
So I've used E Bay for a long time and I've never once had an issue, which is really good but thos time I'm very disappointed.
Tbf I've pinpointed it's the courier who is to blame rather than E Bay themselves or the seller. I ordered a pair of boots, an absolute bargain at 10 pounds. I received confirmation last Saturday that the courier, Yodel, had received them and they would be delivered last Tuesday. I'm still waiting and there are no tracking updates. I'm waiting for the seller to contact me, as per E bay's procedure, and have also spoken to Yodel who are insisting they don't have the parcel, but I have official confirmation so figure that out?? E Bay offered me a refund, but I want the boots. It's like they've disappeared off the face of the earth. I'm in limbo. Anyone else experienced this type of thing? |
Never used eBay. But is the confirmation yodel received them from yodel?
Also, what’s the reviews for the seller on eBay like? |

Just read this as 'experiences with e?' at first and thought Kate was going off the deep end :worry:

You need to contact the seller Kate, its their responsibility to follow up with the courier company
Never had an issue with Ebay, never had a seller use a courier company though its generally Royal Mail |

Yodel's customer service is appalling.

Nothing terrible - a few things that have taken longer to arrive than expected but no outright scams. TBF I'd only really use eBay for small, more obscure things usually.
Though I did buy my PS5 on eBay back when it was impossible to buy one retail, people were scalping them for over £700 on eBay but I stumbled on one from a small (under 200 feedback) seller who said he was just a guy who bought on pre-order and hadn't had time to even set it up, and wanted to sell to a genuine buyer not another scalper. Was selling buy-it-now for £500 and I saw it just after it went up. I took the gamble and went for it and to be fair, I was a bit worried that it would be either a scam, or faulty... but it arrived in perfect condition and is going strong multiple years later, so I guess he was on the level :joker:. Either that or it was stolen and he was going for a quick sale lol. Though it was brand new still factory packaged in box so hopefully not. |
Yodel, on the other hand, is awful. Slightly better than "Evri" (used to be Hermes) but still not great. Honestly a lot of these couriers are bad (because their drivers are over-stretched). It gets even worse in December.

i think yodel's business model is that people pick up parcels after they finish their normal day jobs and then do deliveries in their own private vehicle. So it's never as reliable as other couriers
|
One of my fav things that ever happened was that we had a large, heavy parcel that went to the wrong address - house it went to was proper dodgy, and they signed for it knowing full well it wasn't for them. Based on the size and weight of the box I bet they thought it was going to be something great. It was 20 one-litre bottles of high PH alkaline water :joker:. I like to imagine their face when they cut the box open :flutter:.

Update.
Apparently they are being delivered today but I've little faith now. No sign of them yet. |
Yodel deliver quiet late
