Should Sarah be removed from the house for her comment?

There’s people saying she should be removed for her comment. Do you agree?

Crimson Dynamo 08-11-2024 08:17 AM

lol

no

thesheriff443 08-11-2024 08:28 AM

It did at one point look like that in the diary room

Safety in numbers
You had three people offended by one so you could say the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the one

Kate! 08-11-2024 08:30 AM

No. I'm dismayed by the very thought. Utterly ridiculous some people.

I don’t agree because I like Sarah but I can see why they are saying that

Unfortunately in this country if you state the facts most of the time you are going to be called racist

Ben
For a thread with a Poll
why not put what this is about?

What did she say etc

MTVN 08-11-2024 08:35 AM

No I think BB handled it well

joeysteele 08-11-2024 08:39 AM

I'll just say no.
I like Sarah and will give her the benefit of doubt this time.

However I know that others with unsavoury thinking on groups of others do cover prejudice with claiming it as humour or a joke.

I would say in this instance Sarah was being more humerous than ever holding any serious unsavoury disguised thinking.
So absolutely no she shouldn't be removed at all.

It's sad though that because of this that she could face a backslash for some time on it.
That would be even more unfair than the original comment.
I think she's been wronged here by BB.
She genuinely seemed to be dismayed by the conversation with BB.

Absolutely not. It's stuff like this that caused America to go to ****

FromBB8 08-11-2024 08:45 AM

No. Then again, I thought Emily should have been warned instead of ejected in BB8. Moments like this should be used as points of education, not ejection. Especially as, in both cases, I don't think any malice was intended.

They called her into the Diary Room over a joke.

That's not what I personally would call handling it well.

I agree with you about Emily but I'd like to point out that while Sarahs comment was hurtful to Hanah (mainly due to her thinking that the comment was directed at all the HMs who were poc which it wasn't however sarah did make it sound that way) it wasn't really on the same level as Emilys either

Partly. I think they should have clarified though to Hanah, Segun and Khaled that Sarah hadn't directed the comment at them

smudgie 08-11-2024 09:49 AM

No.
Let us not pander to idiots.

I agree. I can see why it was hurtful - because Sarah made an utter mess of the explanation - but it wasn't on the level of Emily's.

Don't think her husband has helped her out much with this post :worry:

Yeah, he basically said "She's not racist, she's xenophobic" :worry: Great help there husband

bots 08-11-2024 11:31 AM

Sarah clearly comes from a world where she doesn't need to be careful with her words. Hanah comes from a world where she will take any word and twist it into a slur. I know which world i prefer

What an idiot he is , he's basically sabotaging her further here himself aswell. And he's a mayor... you'd think he would have a bit of sense. But then again look at who's running our country .

rusticgal 08-11-2024 12:03 PM

I actually think BB were wrong to even bring the subject up as part of a task as they have actually highlighted something that I believe was said without malice but others would twist to turn it into something else.
