[USA President Joe Biden has issued an
official pardon for his son Hunter,
who was facing sentencing for two criminal cases.
In a statement, the president said his son
had been "singled out", and called
his cases "a miscarriage of justice."
"From the day I took office, I said I would
not interfere with the Justice Department’s
decision-making, and I kept my word
even as I have watched my son being
selectively, and unfairly,
prosecuted," he added.
Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to tax charges
earlier in September,
and was found guilty of being
an illegal drug user in possession
of a gun in June - becoming the
first child of a sitting president
to be a convicted of a crime.

Not surprising. We knew it was coming. Curious what he would have done if reelected though.

it's very dodgy, but then, trump is going to pardon all the convicted jan 6th criminals, so there is that too

American politics just stinks

Ammi 02-12-2024 08:12 AM

…tbf, most/all politics stinks regardless of country…

Gusto Brunt 02-12-2024 08:24 AM

He criticised Trump and said he was rightfully convicted.

But with his son, he says his trial was biased because his surname is Biden.

That's why he had to pardon his son.

Total hypocrite.

Not to mention the hordes of people that voted for a convicted felon

You keep posting these statements over and over
It’s like crying over spilled milk

It’s happened move on if you can!

If you have something new to add that’s great but you sound like a broken record

And once again you’re more interested in what members are posting than adding anything to the topic.

He was never going to let his son go to Prison.

Let's be real about that.

6 months ago, the dems were all saying how noble joe was in allowing justice to be served against his son

What people don't realise is if the trump administration want to go after people, pardoned or not, they will, and nothing can stop them

Niamh. 02-12-2024 09:43 AM

I mean most parents would do that if they had the power to which is exactly why he shouldn't have the power to do that.

You are not adding anything to the thread just the same old lines over and over
No one is above quoting or question

Post something that actually adds to the thread then you might actually get a response

I’m just checking back YOUR responses in this thread and they seem to be all about MY posts.

Post something that actually adds to the thread

Just shows when it boils down to it he is no better than Trump when it comes to using his position to influence, I wonder if Biden even remembers that he said he wouldn't do this :skull:

"Presidential pardons" shouldn't exist at all, it's a farce. The story is not that Biden is pardoning his son. It's that it just shouldn't be a thing at all.

Exactly.

Oliver_W 02-12-2024 01:13 PM

I'd pardon my hypothetical son for most things short of cold blooded murder or molestation tbh.

But I wouldn't make a show of talking about how no-one is above the law.

Oliver_W 02-12-2024 01:14 PM

It would have been a rather Trumpian power move to pardon Hunter Biden early in his presidency, I wonder if Biden wanted to deny him that.

The brainrot Trump Truthers have Hunter Biden interwoven with Ukraine and Trump is up to his tonsils in Russian buttholes... so the chances of Trump pardoning Hunter Biden as any sort of "move" were effectively zero.

bots 02-12-2024 02:02 PM

I understand the wish to overturn incorrect convictions, but that's what the appeals process is designed for. There is no need for pardon from the executive branch
