He’s a tough old beggar

West Ham striker Michail Antonio has been involved in a road traffic accident, the Premier League club said.

In a statement, West Ham said: "The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the club are with Michail, his family and friends at this time."

The club said they would "issue an update in due course".

West Ham face Wolves in their next match in the Premier League on Monday (20:00 GMT).

West Ham United can confirm that Michail Antonio is in a stable condition following a road traffic accident this afternoon in the Essex area.

Michail is conscious and communicating and is currently under close supervision at a central London hospital.

I'm so relieved he's stable, there were a lot of fears that the crash was so bad he wouldn't have survived it

There's probably a good chance his career is done because of this but he has to be thankful for his life

i'm not sure how much of the damage was due to emergency services cutting him out, so it may look a lot worse than it actually was

I don't think they did, and ambulance does not have cutting gear, it looks like he exited via passenger side?
