Credit crunch facing peak?
 

With oil prices down it looks as if things are starting to look up, also I heard on the News at 10 that price rising is starting to slow down now

I so cant wait until prices go down

i hope so food shopping is a nightmare cos things have gone up by at least 20p if not more

Yeh its these small price rises that makes things difficult, a chicken sandwich at my college has gone up by 25p... doesnt sound like a lot but when you only have a certain budget for food every week it adds up!

Yeah, its like £1.20 for a bottle, it used to be £1

even basic stuff like a loaf of bread (going on the value stuff) it used to be 17p a loaf its now sitting at 45p a loaf so it soon adds up when you do a weekly shop

Yeah, some people would think nothing of that, but it is drastic for a loaf of bread, I miss pre-2008 times :( lol

oh i swear ive spent loads this month just cant wait to get paid on friday then ill have money again

all the school meals have become £1.70 instead of £1.50 :(

Im just worried that prices of food wont come down as far as I would like... now supermarkets are up at that price they might take advantage of it and decrease it slow. So that they get some profit out of it!

Goodness me. I can remember the days when I could buy a can of coke for 45p. Now it's like...80. :(

its 50o for me at work and a pound at least for a bottle with discount bottles are 80

My tutor asked me to go to the shop last year for her... she wanted crisps, chocolate and a can of a drink and she gave me £1!
I was like... "That aint enough" she was so shocked, haha!

tbh am not really to bothered about prices going up

even if it is hopefully coming to a end the prices for gas/electric is gonna keep rising (its gonna be loads of jumpers etc for me and my daughter this winter cos i cant keep up with it)

The years of cheap food is over, crude oil price will always change but the price of food will never go down to what it was 2 years ago.
But its not all bad news because clothes and electrical items are very low and may stay that way for some time... But the bad news is that food and bills will rise even more over the next few years...
Its time to tighten our belts for the future unless your rich... Which may cause problems with people out of work or on low imcomes seeing others with nice cars flashing their cash, there was even a government report about the rise of crime due to the matter.. The poor and rich divide is getting bigger and even the middle class are feeling the pinch.
The government have lied for years about the economy by spending more and fuleing the economy with credit... Economic growth is at a all time low but still people come here for a better life and to work.... What type of work? We have became a nation of importers than a nation of exporters which brings economic wealth like china and now with india on the rise the economic power map is changing while our government spends money it does not have... Our government is on credit and its us the public that will have to pick up the bill.
Plus many problems overseas just add to the credit crunch but we have gone through this before and a good government will get us out of the mess, but there is always a catch.
The government of the late 70s early 80s had to sell government companys and close the coal mines to get us out of a huge mess that the 60s government got us into which was a result of the 2nd world war... We was on our kness and broke.
The bank of england are having meetings and may change the 5% intrest rate... Not long till xmas:devil:

The national minimum wage needs to rise to meet the high costs of home bills, food, petrol etc etc while the greedy fat cats get more huge pay outs! Its always been that way but now its became a sick twisted joke... And the banks are just as worse for their greed.

yep i am one of those of benefits (not the situation i want to be in but hoping to change it by getting back to work but anyhoo) so i am really feeling it

I think everyone is feeling it at some level. I used to spend about £80 a week on groceries for the 3 of us, now I am spending anywhere up to £120 for basically the same things. Ok yes I could buy a cheaper range of some things, but I dont want to, I want to enjoy what I have always enjoyed without having my eyes taken out. I am lucky enough that yes I can afford it, but still of the same mind as everyone else, why should I have to pay that much for food.

I agree prices are never going to return to what they were but it really needs to stop, the prices are forcing people into serious deprivation.
