Title::La Duck
Inspiration::
My Inspiraction Was The Swan That was my Target Before taking this picture then I decided that the duck would make a better Picture swans are Nice but there Not as colourful as ducks I saw him eating some Bread And had to get the Shot spot On. Christina Gave me the Swan Idea Originally So I'll give her some credit for it even though i changed my mind and Went for the duck :)

Title::Evening Shine
Inspiration::
This is an old photo i took last year around autum. I thought it looked very natrual and would therfor fit in well with the theme

Title::Untamed beauty
Inspiration::
i just wanted to prove that weeds can be beautiful too

Firewire

Title::Grass Cuttings
Inspiration::
As it is summer I love the smell of freshly mown grass. So I decided for my picture (as the subject is Nature) I should take a photograph of grass cuttings from when my dad mowed the lawn yesterday

Title::Summer Block
Inspiration::
Went outside to find some inspiration and it just appeared right in front of me in the form of a shadow

MR.K!

Title::Rustic Glenn
Inspiration::
I chose this picture because it demonstrates the basic elements of nature- decomposing branches in the water, fresh flowing water and fresh green trees

Locke

Title::Garden
Inspiration::
Nothing really. At first I took a picture of my neighbours tree but did not really like it. I didn't really know what I was going to take a photo of then, but I was sitting in my backgarden today (monday) and saw my dog flipping around on his back, so just decided to take a photo of him doing that. And I guess the grass in the background can be classed as Nature, I wasn't really certain about that?

Title::[[no Title Given
Inspiration::
Standing on the edge of the second highest cliffs in Britain. Standing, 899ft ( 99ft higher than Canary Warf) above the sea, it was hard not to be inspired!

Conor

Title::In the Spotlight
Inspiration::
It was hard to get a pic around my area of something natural, but I found this clump of wild flowers today and though it would be perfect for a dramatic, focused pic. I think I'll call it 'In the spotlight' cos only one flower stands out, compared to the rest, all blurred by its 'presence.' K, that was ****, just vote for me

Title::[[No Title Given]]
Inspiration::
took this picture in 2007 when I went to Las Vegas with my family and we went over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter. This is one of the pictures I took. I chose this, as it has a real wow factor and its completely different to the normal nature you would get in the UK. It shows nature as the Grand Canyon has been made over millions of years by erosion, this being a a phenomena of the physical world which is one of the defintions of nature.

Title::NatureBug
Inspiration::
this actually wasn't a picture I was going to submit, but then I found this one and it was more... naturel ;P

Title::Spring Time
Inspiration::
It was really sunny when I took this, I was looking round my garden which is a bit of a field and a saw this tree with the white flowers which looked awful pretty. I heard the bees and thought along with flowers it would be a good example of nature. Took me ages to get a bee to stay in the same place for long enough =|

[i]So yes, please vote over u2u to Me:: LewisLeona

Lewis. 25-04-2009 06:57 PM

Yes Sam!

MR.K! 25-04-2009 07:00 PM

can bronna's be resized ? Coz its HUGE !

Shaun 25-04-2009 07:00 PM

I'll do a comment for each photo haha.

Andy:
I really like this. I'm impressed, first, at how you managed to get so close to a duck without it flying away :tongue: I tried to do it the other week and failed miserably. Also like how a swan has managed to filter its way in. If I had to be picky, I'd criticise how the duck is sort-of positioned away from the camera, and such it's not ideal. But I think you've captured the theme well, and creatively.

Christina:
Using an old picture? How blasé. :shocked: But I like it. However, I think a bit more colour could have been used, and this doesn't seem very 'natural' to me. As much as I like (and have taken before) these sorts of pictures, they're very edited and not very natural at all. :\

Twilight:
Hmm, I like the thought behind this picture. Weeds are often seen as an irritation, but you have made the dandelions look quite pretty. I like it, well done.

Firewire:
Whilst the smell of freshly-cut grass is indeed lovely, this picture is not, I'm afraid. I'm not sure what made you think "a box of grass" would be nice if I'm really honest :( A different idea, but not a good one.

Fom:
Err...it's a different idea. I like the creativity behind the photo, but if I'm honest I think it could be better. Perhaps it's compared to the other photos, and I'm not sure what kind of technology you used, but I'm not keen on the overall quality. I'd give it a 6/10.

Mr.K!:
Wow! I love it! A little bit blurry around the edges if I'm being picky, but it's a great shot.

Locke:
Amazing self-portrait. I kid :tongue: You've ticked all the boxes here - open field, animals frolicking, it's the ideal picture. Well done.

JD:
Wow, this is my idea of Hell personally haha. The cliff, that is, not your photography lmao. A really impressive and stunning photo, it'd probably be my favourite if I didn't hate heights/rocks haha.

Conor:
WOW. That's all I can say :|

Sam!:
Not everyone has the advantage here of using the Grand Canyon in their picture :tongue: Not a lot of effort really I suppose, but it's hard to be critical about such a stunning location.

SiaSiaSia:
Awww, so cute. I'm a sucker for cute things. Let this be a lesson for all future photos :tongue:

Brona:
Wow, a great competition here. I didn't even notice the bee at first, so to get that in is a brilliant bonus. Bravo. :)

Well done all!

Sam! 25-04-2009 07:01 PM

Didn't Conor blur his? Even though its pretty amazing.

MR.K! 25-04-2009 07:02 PM

Thank you for the comment Shaun.

Firewire 25-04-2009 07:05 PM

I understand Shaun that mine is.. let's say... utter ****.

Ross 25-04-2009 07:06 PM

How do I vote? I don't understand.

Sam! 25-04-2009 07:06 PM

Lewis you need to make it clear how to vote and whether contestants can and if they can vote for themselves.

MR.K! 25-04-2009 07:09 PM

Read the top. It says you have to vote the two contestants you think are best in a u2u to Lewis.
And i doubt you can vote for yourself, because thats just lame.

1. Yep. But I used my focusing settings on my camera before taking the pic, rather than a blur tool in a graphics prog afterwards. When Xander wrote the rules last year, he only listed blurring pics under the editing rules. it seems to be the same this year.

2. Thanku lol :hugesmile:

SiaSiaSia 25-04-2009 08:27 PM

There are some really Good One's

Locke And bronna's are my favourite One's

John. 26-04-2009 01:47 AM

I worked it out that it would take roughly 5 seconds to fall into the water... but you wouldn't be swimming back out afterwards.

LemonJam 26-04-2009 09:45 AM

Andy:
Good picture, I think that if you caught the rest of the swan it would make the pictures meaning more apparent. Maybe taking it a bit lower would bring it more into the ducks world if you get what I mean?

Christina
A nice picture, but I think it may be a bit busy as theres alot of sticks and no proper focus. Still a good picture though.

Twilight
Very nice, maybe more zoomed into the weeds it would portray them more beautifully.

Firewire
Don't really get it if I'm honest. I think some focus is needed here.

Fom
Artistic and different, I love that you can see the daisies in your shadow, a clever picture.

MR.K!
A beautiful picture, but it looks very shakey, keep your hands still and the picture would have been breathtaking, but it's still very good.

Locke
Really nice picture, perhaps a touch blurry but great. Maybe if you took it a little lower it's be even better, but this is one of my faves here, congrats.

JD.
A beautiful landscape, but I would have cropped it to show the bottom half (the valley going into the sea)

Conor
Fantastic, from the positioning of the flower, the colours, the background, the focus, just stunning, bravo!

Sam!
Amazing, just a breathtaking view. I like the angle you took it from aswell, just generally beautiful.

SiaSiaSia
Really a pretty photo, love how the grass is infront of the dog and the background it very suiting.

Brona
Love it, the Bee adds alot to it. The focus is great, the background is busy without being overwhelming, well done!

Great set of photos!
